"Perfect place for relaxing Prague stay "
Just home from 2 nights 3 day stay and spa at the Prague Mandarin Oriental. I highly recommend it and if in doubt over the choice of hotel, just do it! From the moment you enter the building you will know you've made the right decision. The staff, from doormen, concierge, front desk, waiting staff, room service and spa staff were all perfect and could not have been better. The inclusive breakfast was wonderful. Bedroom and bathroom the lap of luxury with large comfortable bed, bedding, sumptuous towels. Everything clean and in perfect condition. The only slight quibble I had was the room service. The chicken noodle soup was not good, raw noodles and the sushi not to our taste. Otherwise, a flawless visit and wouldn't hesitate to return again. In fact, now wondering which MO hotel to go to next! Thanks to all for looking after us.
"Conveniently located but expected more"
We came with high expectations as Prague is a city of wonders. Should have done a bit more research but I gave trust to the MO brand. The hotel is conveniently located and is within walking distance to the famous bridge. The hotel is a refurbishment from a really old monastery so most of the historical elements have been maintained. The room was old, though spacious, modestly more modernness would have been appreciated. Prague is indeed a worthwhile site seeing and exploring city to visit. Will give other hotels a try next time.
"So kind and caring!"
Me and my family were in Prague during the first days of the new year and our stay was fabolous! I have to say it was very cold and sightseeing was tough but knowing that we'd go back in Mandarin in the evening was a great relief. The entire crew was so thoughtful and delicious it seemed to us we were at home. Starting with a rich breakfast and further on the concierge was really helpful in purchasing some tickets for the opera. Dinner at the restaurant was really good and because of some unlucky flu we experienced the room-service too, was perfect! So kind and if they advised us we had to wait 20 minutes or half an hour we could be self confident they would not delay. But the most amazing experience was our room and in particular the sleeping: I can't remember I had experienced before such a comfortable bed, really awesome I may say! So, many thanks to Mandarin's staff in Prague! Hoping for a forthcoming trip back ! Sabrina, Lunita and Paolo
"Exceptional stay in Prague"
A January vacation to Prague may seem counter intuitive, but this turned out to be a really fantastic trip. The Mandarin Oriental hotel was great on all counts. Location was in the newer part of town, still very old, so it was away from the tourist traps, but a short walk across the river on the magnificent Charles Bridge when you wanted to visit the most historic part. This is really where you want to stay, in the more elegant quarter. The old castle/palace was just up the hill, and there were numerous excellent restaurants within a few block radius (better than you find in the old town). The best for Czech food that we found was called "U Maliru 1543" (yes established in that year). Great food and service. As for the hotel, the Mandarin Oriental is a beautiful hotel located in a rambling old monastery. The decor was extremely tasteful, and utilized the best stone and materials, while remaining true to the original architecture. Hats off to the architect who managed this beautiful transformation of purpose. On top of that, my highest praise is saved for the staff: the most pleasant, helpful and cooperative hotel staff I have come across. If you are headed to Prague, treat yourself to this perfect hotel.
"Could be better"
A few things....don't get me wrong. This is a very pretty property. However, not my favorite, and I'm not going to go out of my way to stay here again. Why' Very few rooms have any view at all....we had a very nice room but we had to keep the curtains closed most of the time because our room look directly across the street into another building's windows. Breakfast....no so great. Omlette had chunks of egg shells. My collegue's ham and cheese omlete arrive without cheese. Concierge....forget about it. Evidently there are only two places in Prague that are any good....asked the concierge for a modertaly priced restaurant within walking distance. He gave us two options. One expensive on this side of the river and another expensive accross the river. Next night, asked the concierge to make us a very specific reservation, we arrived at our designated place and they had no reservation for us. Thank you very much.
