"Excellent Luxurious Hotel in Singapore, Marina Bay area"
Excellent accommodation with breathtaking view. Excellent housekeeper services. Good WiFi. Thank you for my Birthday cake. I'm totally impressed. Thank you so much :) First night of my stay, there was a problem about air-conditioner and room temperature control that it was not properly cool. So I told receptionist a problem and then mister technician came to my room (1606) quickly. The problem was solved. But I think I have to recommend you that you should completely check about the room-temp system everytime before guests arrive, especially the "Marina Bay View Room" that becomes high-temp in the afternoon til evening because it's located in sunset-aspect. It will be good for your professional :) Hope to see you again next time I come here. You are my best first SG-hotel choice to choose :)
"Week end in Singapore "
We went to Singapore for three days. From the arrival I was surprise that our room was not available. We did mention by mail that we would arrived very early in morning. I had to negotiate a half journey rates to get my room. They mention that room was not ready and the moment I agree to pay additional charge room was available. I'm a frequent traveler in Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong I never have that that what's make difference with high level class hotel. I will not go back even if the service was excellent as I don't like the architecture and the lobby. Room was ok. Food very good. No atmosphere.
"Great Hotel "
This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. We had a king room facing Marina Bay. It was large and the bed was so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud. I love how they come a turn down the bed early evening and provide additional water tea and clean towels each day. And little things like filling the kettle up with water so it's ready to go. My only negative would be that we booked our room through Expedia , therefore didn't qualify for the wifi so we had to pay for wifi. Which was a bit of a shock after traveling for three weeks through Vietnam and Cambodia where it was included in the rate and was free everywhere you went!
"A great hotel."
The Mandarin Oriental is my hotel of choice in Singapore. Despite the fact that it is big, it still manages to retain personal touches and make each guest feel welcome. The situation of the hotel is excellent, the fittings first class, but it is the wonderful staff which makes it special. The breakfast buffet is the best of any hotel in the world I have stayed in.
"Good service but not as great as other Mandarin hotels"
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We checked in the afternoon time. Check in time was relatively long compared to other 5 star hotel. Our check in staff kept reminding us that wifi is not included in the room rate. I overheard other couple next to us during check in, they were also reminded the same thing. Luckily, my husband had emailed the hotel and got the wifi included for free. Lobby ambience is nice. Lobby guys are very polite and helpful. Taxis are always available. Location wise, this hotel has the best view Singapore can offer. Overlooking Marina Bay, you can see the city behind Fullerton Hotel with the skyscrapers, and also Marina Bay Sands. It is impeccable and unforgettable. The room was a bit of a downside for me. The size is much smaller compared to our previous hotel (we stayed in Four Seasons Orchard, you can read my previous review). There wasnt much room left to store our luggages and shopping bags. The bathroom was also not spacious, with single basin. Amenities are standard Mandarin brand (not designer brand). But they smell very nice and pleasant. I stayed once in Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. Once we got into our room, we were offered hot tea with a large selection of tea. And the staff came into the room bringing a pot of hot tea and 2 cups. I was actually expecting it here in MO Singapore but that was not the case. There was bottled tea in the room to replace this. Other mini bar items are very complete but a bit pricey suiting the Singapore standard. We had a drink in Morton's Bar and it was very nice. The bar was like an elevated round stage in the atrium. The breakfast at Melt was also very nice. Large variant of food including Indian and Singaporean noodle. Very recommended. On Sunday, they offer similar food plus foie gras and Alaskan King Crab for lunch. More price of course but worth trying. Upon checkout, we wanted to store our bag in the spa/health centre and shower there because we had an evening flight. But the staff were very edgy and refused to keep the bags for us there. They insisted that we must keep the bags in concierge in the lobby which was very far from the spa (spa was in 5th floor). It was very difficult to organise this and we ended up bringing our bags to the cabana around the pool. Normally staff in 5 stars hotel are very helpful and accommodating... The pool itself was very beautiful with view overlooking the skyscrapers. But the changing room was very narrow with 1 toilet, 1 shower and 1x1 meter area to dress up/wash hands/dry your hair. Back to location, this hotel is perfect you can walk to MBS or Fullerton and Raffles Hotel. Overall, it was a nice experience to stay here but I would think twice to go back here. There are a few hotel in the same area and have same view to consider.
