"You definitely get what you pay for, will stay again"
A+.This hotel gives spectacular service, and clean. They are spot on. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Stayed on club level They are also very receptive to customers complaints and needs which for me is important. I never heard anyone say they can't do something. The concierges are excellent and even went the extra mile to try to get us what we wanted on short notice. This is definitely a hotel that strives for top tier excellence in the heart of DC
"Best hotel in Washington, D.C."
From the genuine greetings to the perfect water pressure in the shower, the Mandarin is a memorable luxury experience. Rather than overdo with extras, its staff anticipates the needs of its guests and responds quickly to any requests. For vacationers, it's located within walking distance of the Washington Mall, and has a CVS pharmacy and Starbucks next door. I would avoid the pizza place down the block, however.
"Luxury has a price, but worth it here!"
I recently was fortunate enough to attend a meeting in Washington and this visit to the Mandarin Oriental was the venue. I preface by saying that because I am just glad it was not being paid out of pocket but rather a business account! It is very expensive here, but if that is not an issue for you--lucky you!--this is well worth it. Some hotels charge 5-star prices but are not delivering that level of quality but the Mandarin, as anybody who knows the brand, always hits the mark. The beds are beyond comfortable--far better than home!--and the bathrooms are bigger than most average hotel rooms. Marble, glass, modern fixtures and work tools (properly placed plugs, charger for phone near bed, tons of details that makes business travel that much more pleasant.) The room service is the only reason I gave a rating of 4 star instead of 5. It was of course very expensive but as I tend to work in my room during evenings that I don't have obligations, I am a frequent room service user. The table presentations were not up to 5-star. Very plain, giving the impression of being rushed. But having a drink outside by the fire pit after a few meetings is just heavenly.
"The Loper's in D.C."
Staying at The Mandarin made our weekend trip a total success ! We cannot wait to go back and enjoy the hotel again! The service, food and the location of the hotel in Washington made our trip complete!
"Expectations' Not Met"
Very convenient location (esp. if you are doing the DC tourist thing), but the property is showing its age, and the staff is not nearly as obliging as it should be for a MO hotel. I'm not even sure if they are familiar with the term "personal service". We had better luck booking dinner reservations through Open Table then we did the concierge.
