"Great location with full service."
The hotel is on a fairly quiet cul-de-sac and is in walking distance to the national mall. The service is comprehensive and enjoyable. Ask for rooms with a view for there are great views of the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial. In house restaurant is nothing to write home about, what is good is pricey.
"What a great place"
My only complaints are first world problems- the mini fridge was too loud, the hair dryer broke, the bar was too noisy. The important things were all present and all the little things made the difference. The front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. Check in was a breeze and after a long plane ride it was nice to not have to worry about logistics. Our room was better than expected. We had a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries for us which was unexpected, but wonderful as we were there for my wife's birthday. The view of the Jefferson Memorial was amazing as was all the amenities in the room- great water pressure, a good quality television, robes, slippers and turn down and ice service at night. All the services you would expect at this facility worked extremely well. The concierge, bell hop, housekeeping and doormen were all knowledgeable and friendly. You have definitely earned my repeat business. Well done.
I attended a conference at this hotel and was excited to stay for a couple of nights, even though I live within a 45 minute drive. I have stayed at many different luxury hotels before, including the Mandarin in Miami, so I thought I was in for a treat. Well, overall I was not impressed with my stay. The good: beautiful furnishing/decor, spa, restaurant, and indoor swimming pool. However, the staff could not make up for the good. As I was taking a break between sessions the first day, I went to the lounge area to relax and grab a drink/snack. I was sitting there for about 10 minutes and no one came to see if I wanted anything. However, when another lady came to sit down a few feet away from me, she was promptly approached and given a menu. Another 5 minutes goes by and a gentleman sits down a few feet away and a different waiter approaches him and gives him a menu. I was not happy, but my break was over, so I went downstairs to the conference. Also, the concierge did not seem very helpful or friendly. Honestly, most of the staff that I came in contact with seemed merely polite and a bit aloof, instead of warm. During checkout, the manager apologized for the lounge incident and stated that I would be "taken care of" if I came back..
"Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC"
Excellent Hotel with excellent staff especially Eugene the door man and Dorothy at the front desk they both were extremely friendly, really knew the city well and had excellent suggestions for places to go. Room Service and breakfast were exceptional all 4 days of the stay. The Suite was very clean and spacious, large walk in closet and bathroom.
"Excellent hotel facilities, staff & service"
Five stars across the board - Outstanding hotel starting with the doormen - every member of the staff is exceptional in service, friendly and almost overly attentive. Beautiful facilities and rooms, excellent food in Muze, the Lounge and in Room Dining - Mandarin food items were delicious. This hotel is at the top of our list for location, amenities, facilities, food and service.
