So me and my wife chose this hotel for staying overnight prior to returning to Scotland after our holiday in the Philippines. On landing in the airport at terminal 3 a friend had told us there was a free shuttle to the hotel so we got that. You'll find it on a stall marked the Marriott on the right hand side of the pavement when you walk out the terminal. The hotel looks fantastic from the outside and even better on the inside. We had absolutely no problems with cleanliness or the staff they treat you like a king from the moment the shuttle bus picks you up to the moment your dropped off. Why did I only give 4 stars'''' Well there is one slight thing that I think let the hotel down. It's the pool area. With everything else looking so amazing the pool area is very small and the rear of the building needs some work. It just looks old and tired. All it may need is a lick of paint because you can see where they have made repairs to cracks in the building as there a different colour to the rest of the building and there's a lot of them. A plus point for the pool area however is that in the changing rooms you have access to a hot water jacuzzi and a sauna however it's gender specific so I couldn't relax in either with the wife she did say the female changing room had the same tho. Overall lovely hotel and if I was to come back to Philippines I would chose this hotel again.
"Stay in the new wing...but they need to maintain"
New wing is definitely nicer. But even though our room was brand new, there were already stains in the bathroom flooring. Concierge try to be helpful. Chinese restaurant was yummy. Security at all the entrances is a bit of a pain, but i guess nice to feel secure. Overall, pleasant.
"We meet again Marriott"
And wow did you impress !!! An all new West Wing which has a Nespresso machine! A grand ballroom which is ginormous!!! Staff as courteous and professional as ever! And the CRU buffet never lets one down! 👍👍👍
"Convenient and well appointed"
A surprise package especially if you are staying in the new west wing. Standards approach ones set by their flagship JW Marriott properties. Transfer to and from the airport is easy via the hourly Resorts World shuttle. A cautionary note. It doesn't cover Terminal 4, the one used by domestic low cost carriers. All international full service airlines land at Terminal 1. Coming to the hotel, security is tight and rightfully so in crime prone Manila. The lounge is excellent, though there isn't much for vegetarians. Same is true for entire country. Beds are firm, with soft pillows though. The rooms have bedside USB charging points. And the TV plus Sound System is top notch with excellent selection of channels. The only area for improvement, if any, is quality of service. I asked for an umbrella on loan, which they refused to part with, till I part with an id proof like passport. For a Gold Elite customer, that is unacceptable.
"Fantastic New Year Count Down at the Marriott!"
We stayed at the Marriott hotel for the New Year Countdown party and it was an amazing experience! Here's what they got right: 1. Hotel Room- clean and modern, my daughter enjoyed the bath tub very much! 2. Access to Mall- we liked that there were many food choices at the mall and no need to spend extravagantly for every meal 3. Count down party- fantastic world-class entertainment, generous sit down menu and drinks, Filipino snack buffet at midnight. Best party was the raffle and prizes for EVERYONE! We won two nights at Belmont and an overnight in Marriott. Both with breakfast. Exciting! There was a kiddie area with kids buffet and entrainment and even a bounce house and just dance wii. They even had mass arranged before the party. Everything was very well thought of to make guests feel abundant Where they could've improved' 1.Check in- the wait was so long! And when there, they couldn't find two adjoining rooms, or rooms in the same floor. Finally, they did, and only one room was available already by 3pm. They messaged us later when the second room was available, and said to get the key from front desk. But we then needed to FALL IN LINE AGAIN! We had a a two year old and senior citizen with us. That made it very challenging. 2. In Room Breakfast - we were told it would take 45 minutes, but it took over an hour and several follow ups to get our food delivered! Very difficult to wait when you're hungry and especially when you have a diabetic senior with you. Good thing they offered to wave the fees! That was an excellent remedy! Food was delicious! Hope they can improve on that. But the check out was efficient and the party more than made up for everything!
