"Excellent Customer Service but....."
We have stayed at this property for the past 5 years and have consistently experienced great care and hospitality from the front desk staff to housekeeping ( big shout out to Fernan/Eman), cafe service staff Jolan and Ella and concierge Jun. Regretfully, there were service recovery gaps during this last stay when bathroom leak and structural damage necessitated us moving to another room at 10 pm on our last night and at so much inconvenience. Given that room was not comparable the expectation of a reasonable downcharge was not offered nor fulfilled. Front desk staff need to be empowered to provide service recovery at the time that service recovery is needed. K and J Wayne
"Overzealous room cleaning"
While room cleaning is generally a good thing, we found it weird that we were just checked in for 2 hours (late check-in at 4 because of traffic) and went out to eat at around six and when we returned to the room, it was already cleaned. Now, that in itself was not a bad thing. What we got annoyed at was that we got the robes out and a towel to be used when we got back. They got collected when we left the room. I mean, they werent even wet, so why cant they just rehang them. The floor rug in the bathroom was also removed. These werent replaced during the cleaning and we had to request them back.
"Not so 4-star Hotel"
At arrival, we asked for a bellboy to help us with our luggage, but the personnel assigned at the entrance between the Hotel and the Casino exchanged a conversation saying "The bellboy is probably busy." Hello'! Could you possibly say that out loud in front of customers who are expecting to be accommodated nicely, at the least' The staff are not that friendly especially the front desk personnel, except that we commend the bellboy and the chambermaid. Our room has a complimentary buffet breakfast. There are many selection of food to choose from but during our second buffet breakfast, we noticed small flies in our dining table as well as in the buffet area; we caught the attention of the table attendee but he just looked at us in a blank face and turned around. He did not even response as a courtesy. Hello'! He`s a front line personnel and he should at least address the situation correctly. Should we pay a high end hotel just to receive a service like that' The amenities are okay and satisfactory but the customer service is not commendable given that it is a 4-star hotel.
"Friendly staff at Manila Marriott"
1st time at the Manila Marriott. Great staff who walked me through the check in process at the executive lounge. Appreciate the person (whose name escape me) who checked me in on the Sunday night 09/10/16, so apologies. Attentive to detail. Special thanks for Janise from housekeeping for cleaning my room.
"Convenient - To the Airport Terminals"
Located just about opposite Terminal 3 , NAIA. Convenient and pretty self sufficient on its own ; if one has no intention to brave the traffic to Makati or Downtown Manila. Staff are friendly and front desk services are more often than not , pleasant . Hotel rooms are spacious and clean. Not the 5 stars setting and decor but it will do nicely for a 4 star level. There's a shopping mall, theatre , Casino adjoining to the Hotel and a complete floor filled with Restaurants to satisfy one's palette. There's restaurant serving Japanese, Western, Asian , Local Cuisines and do recommend to go for the Local cuisine. It's delicious, appetising and as in any good food remember to give the scales a break ! Enjoy the food - squids, fish , deep fried pork knuckles .... and worry about tomorrow tomorrow . And enjoy a whisky at their lobby lounge before ending the day.
