"very nice stay"
I've been here with my friends and it's very comportable spot to stay. it has small chilling lounge with ping pong tables and nice green zone. Beds are wide enough for 2 people, also price was very reasonable for Boston. Area around has places to snack like Cosi and so on. really like it
"Most disappointing Marriott stay to date"
Well, it's 8:55 and I have been checked in for about 4 hours. We drove 2 hours to Boston this morning, and spent about 6 hours touring two colleges, so I was a bit wiped out by the time I checked in at 5, and looking forward to some relaxation and the opportunity to take advantage of our Concierge level benefits of drinks and deserts. Our stay in started by getting up to our room and finding out we had been given a king instead of the two doubles that I reserved. I was informed that my selection wasn't guaranteed (though I'm a Marriott rewards member, booked on the Marriott site, and specifically selected the two doubles rather than the King bed). I was basically told that the double bed rooms had been given to people paying premium prices, and there were no double rooms available so my daughter would have to make due with the pull out couch. We accepted some conciliation rewards points and went out to dinner. After dinner, we skipped desert and headed back to see what was available at the concierge club. After checking the full 25th floor, and then the 24th floor, we finally found out that the club was moved to the 2nd floor. So we jumped in the elevator and headed down, only to find out that the concierge club is closed on Fridays and Saturdays! So we went down to the lobby store where we paid $17 for 3 waters and 2 ice cream bars.We then headed up to the room and went to set up the sleeper sofa. First we found there were no extra pillows, so we had to call down for that. Next my daughter laid on the 3 inch foam mattress, and said she was completely uncomfortable. We decided to try putting the sofa cushions under the mattress, so she pulled back the sheet and blanket, at which time we discovered thick brown spots on the sheet! The bed had been used, soiled, and not changed! We have now been waiting an hour for house keeping to come up with new bedding, but we are seriously grossed out. I have been a rewards member for 30 years, and recently have been having some bad experiences at Courtyards, but this is the most disgusting thing ever. Seriously considering canceling my Marriott card, using up my 300,000 points, and switching to Hilton.
"Dirty and Dingy"
My company is located next door, so I'm often stuck staying here. I switched to Hotel Marlowe and had a MUCH better experience for a lower price. This trip Marlowe was sold out, so I came back to the Marriott. Not only have the rooms been the same for the 10 plus years I've been visiting, they are filthy! Last time I stayed here I asked for a different room because their were hairpins and ribbons on the floor that clearly hadn't been vacuumed. This time I was greeted by someone else's used bar of soap and hair in the shower and a bathroom vanity that hadn't been cleaned at all. This is unacceptable. I'm paying over 500/night to stay here. For that price, they can afford housekeeping. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
"Not at all worth the price."
I recently stayed here for a conference and booked the room at a special conference rate. The stay was memorable for an entire night of a fire alarm blaring in the hotel. At the end of the stay they conveniently doubled the rate of the hotel and the hotel conveniently reported "they were committed to protecting their rates". Beware of a bait and switch and keep all records when booking at this hotel!
"Location, comfort and quality"
We had poor directions from AAA but could see the hotel from across the river in Boston. As we pulled up to the wrong entrance the valet came right out to park our car. We checked in quickly and easily. The room was excellent with a nice view. We stayed there for a conference and had a gear continental breakfast that was better than any other although that may have been supported by Harvard Medical. (don't know). Just a two minute walk to Legal Seafood.
