"Faded past - pretty poor - best avoid"
Avoid. Unless you are seriously desperate – go somewhere else. This time warp from 1980 has lovely staff but lousy infrastructure, starting from the moment you enter the cumbersome slow lifts to the depressing décor and dreadful carpet of the bedrooms. There were two holes in my bath that had been poorly filled and in my replacement room the shower remained firmly on bath mode. I spoke to the GM who whilst empathising told me that I wasn’t telling him anything he doesn’t know – but Marriott are the tenants not the landlord. Until there is some early resolution here about who is going to invest I would suggest that you find somewhere else. The picture is one of the holes in the bath..
"Quite old but still better than good"
If you're looking for a business type hotel wherein you can have some business meetings or occasions. Better pick this place. I remember we had a Junior's and Seniors Promenade back when I was in high school. It was memorable since it was my first time to attend such event in a very prestigious hotel. It was quite expensive but still would treasure it. The place is nice. Very elegant. Most of the staff here are well-trained. Last time I had a business meeting here last month. The convention room is still good and well-maintained.

"Older Hotel - Excellent Service "
As some of the other review have indicated the Cebu Marriott is an older hotel & it's age is clearly evident in several places. Despite this the hotel is well maintained and clean, with excellent customer service from the reception to business lounge. The Marriott is approximately an hours taxi ride from the airport which is approximately 250 PHP, the hotel can arrange but you will be paying an additional service fee for the same style and standard of car The hotel gym in the basement is well appointed and reasonably airy despite the lack of windows. Most cardio equipment have TVs and water and towels are free, but remember your own headphones! Pricing at the Marriott on this trip was a little high when compared to other hotels of a similar or higher standard. Availability was however limited in this area of Cebu so it's difficult to state if this is typical pricing The hotels location is fantastical and backs onto a shopping / entertainment complex that includes a large number of restaurants and coffee bars should you wish to eat outside the hotel
"It's an old hotel but great service all around......"
First of all, this is my first trip to Cebu hence I would like to play safe and go for a reputable hotel and Cebu City Marriott Hotel did not let me down. There was a slight hiccup during check in as they didn't recognize my membership status but was corrected within a short while. On entering the first room I was assigned to, I was disappointed as the room though well maintained definitely looked dated. Was given a different room due to my membership status but likewise the room is old but looks better maintained. Was given access to the lounge and can see that it is very busy during cocktail hours. Food were quickly snapped up!! The breakfast though is not my type as it has fair share of local Filipino cuisine that does not suit me. Overall, I find that every one in the hotel is always smiling and always ready to serve you. If this hotel has been newer , it would have gotten a better rating from me. The close proximity to Ayala Mall makes this hotel also appealing.
