I couldn't have been more impressed with this property. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well kept. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was clean, spacious. The property was exceptional. The pool was very nice but the other amenities were exceptional. The fitness area was like a high end club. The tennis/basketball court were also well above average. The offered free bikes, which will not high quality, did the trick and were a nice touch. Every staff member was kind and helpful which is a rare find these days. The island was beautiful, relaxing and an easy trip to downtown San Diego. Would love to go back soon.
"Very nice place, not completely updated"
The staff of this hotel was absolutely five star. Every was very friendly and and looking for ways to be helpful. The rooms and common areas were very clean, and the location is phenomenal. Beautiful views both night and day. Several good eating places are within walking distance. Other reviewers have commented on a recent remodeling of the resort. I'm not sure they have gotten to entire property yet-- the carpet by in front of the elevator stop on my floor was visibly worn, and there was a large stain on the carpeting at the entrance to our room. Outside of these small things, I enjoyed my stay at the resort very much.
"Great location but...."
I recently visited San Diego with my husband and our best friend to visit our brother! I will break this down into the good and bad of my experience here. Good: I enjoyed the resort like feel of this resort as it had a nice outdoor pool with a poolside bar! I also really enjoyed the location on Coronado island with great view of the water and Coronado bridge! The rooms were clean and nice. Not luxury but they were nice. Also, Coronado Beach which is a few minutes drive on the island is BEAUTIFUL! not on resort but wanted to add this as a must do! A couple other must do's Is taking blowhorn cruise on the bay, San Diego zoo, and eating breakfast at "world famous" on pacific beach:) Bad: The resort looks tired. It's old. The rooms were nice (must have been renovated) but the resort itself is old. I also really did not like that there was only 1 dining option. The menu was very small with not a lot of options. Especially for a picky eater lol! They also charge a resort fee which I think is absolutely ridiculous. Especially since it doesn't include parking which is also VERY expensive. Everything was very overpriced especially the room rates. I am a travel agent and even had discounted rates which were still far overpriced for what you get. As I mentioned earlier, it is. Ice being in Coronado island (despite how extremely scared I was crossing the bridge to get there everyday! Lol) however I'm not sure it was worth the cost unfortunately...feel free to message me with questions
"Outstanding location "
The Coronado Marriott Resort and Spa was truly an incredible destination to either relax or workout. I utilized their newly renovated gym, yoga studio, tennis, basketball, volleyball and my newest favorite sport Pickleball courts. The staff at the resort were amazing and could not do enough for us. We (my family) used their bicycles every morning with no charge and rode downtown for breakfast. We met the general manager of the resort who was the most humble guy I had the pleasure to meet. His manner was welcoming and professional. I would go back to this resort in a heart beat. Have fun and take advantage to all that they have to offer.
Beautiful property and rooms were all remodeled. The staff was fantastic, breakfast was excellent, drinks were fun, and the views are some of the best of downtown San Diego I have ever seen. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, in fact, wish that I had a longer stretch of time to explore the island. Great job delivering excellence in customer service here!
