"Good and Offish"
Reading the reviews the same issues appear to come up so I didn't know what to expect this time when partner arranged our stay and if comments are ever taken note of other than occasionally politely acknowledged. We requested for early check in and on arrival was abruptly told its not guaranteed, fair enough, but last time we were told by another staff member we could go to the restaurant for coffee and breakfast which would be free of charge whilst room was prepared, this time we were told to have coffee in lounge at a price and quite rudely I might add, this we did and chunky dirty looking mugs were plonked in front of us, hardly 4 star treatment and more like travel lodge etc. Things got better with nice room but although we enjoyed a pre theatre drink in lounge other times it was cramped with only uncomfortable hard seating left in other side and for us on the more mature side was not nice. Breakfast good for what we ate. I do hope they actually listen and take note of all negative comments as its a good hotel but with lots of competition in Liverpool. Front reception staff helpful apart from one and lounge bar young lady needs more hospitality training, I don't see why they don't offer a choice of cafétier with cups and saucers so customers have a choice and not just mugs from a chain. Customers are all ages so should cater for all.
Never really been all that impressed with Marriott hotels - always seem a bit old fashioned and worn and this one definitely is! Awful bar food, choice of ham or cheese sandwich after 11 pm as room service and pay cash on delivery'! - never known this before in a four star hotel. Apparently because no card registered but were not asked to do so on arrival! One pack of cheap biscuits for our room, nothing in mini bar. Havent really been impressed with anything in this city and this hotel has not enhanced that. Would not return to Liverpool again and definitely not use a Marriott again.
"Night away in liverpool"
Lovely room, very spacious. All excellent service from all staff. Great breakfast in the morning with friendly staff on hand to serve you. Great location for all shops in Liverpool and the station. Most restaurants are in walking distance.
"SPA DAY DISASTER"
I am writing to let you know of my experience of booking a spa day. I was bought a Delux Spa Day Special with Strawberries and Fizz for two at your Liverpool Marriott Hotel for my birthday. I rang on the 25th February 2017 and booked my Spa Day with a lady called Natalie for the 17th March 2017 at 1.00pm. On the 1st March 2017 the very same lady rang me asking would it be possible to change our treatments so that I had mine first and my daughter had her's after me. The reason for this was one of the therapists was wanting to take a day's holiday and to accommodate her doing so it would mean only one therapist on that day. I told Natalie that the whole point of the day was to experience it with my daughter and that it would mean that we would both be having our 45 minute sessions after each other, thus not sharing the experience together. She agreed to leave our appointments as they stood. So on the morning of this Spa day, I receive a telephone call at 10.30 pm from a gentleman called Leonard to say that the therapist has phoned up sick. This all being just 2 and a half hours before our appointment. My daughter and I had both took a holiday off work for this, I had a taxi arranged to take us to the hotel as we were having champagne. I think this is totally unacceptable to only be notified 2 and a half hours before of this cancellation. Both my daughter and I are very disappointed at what has happened as we were looking forward to a relaxing pampered day which has turned out now to be a total disaster. The fact that a therapist has tried to take the day off earlier and then gone off sick seems quite convenient.
Hotel staff were welcoming, helpful and always cheerful. Bedroom was clean and comfortable, would recommend taking breakfast if booking as it was delicious and had plenty of variety. I have milk allergies and on the second morning the staff member remembered and automatically brought me soya milk for my tea.
