Good location if you want to shop in Oxford Street, or at this time of year visit Winter Wonderland. Rooms were good, but staff and service were below expectations. The hotel had problems with room allocation and breakfast was disappointing. Overall OK and did raise issues I had at the time with the management and these were resolved. Would go back and give them another go. If you want real luxury however lots of better options in Park Lane and Mayfair.
"Great location, average hotel"
First of all, the reception desk is a bit strange with two people fitting at desks on their Apple Mac laptops. The room smelt of drains and the TV kept turning off at random intervals. All a bit weird. Breakfast is available at Lanes next door
"Excellent Check-In and Lounge"
The entry area is exquisite, and the staff is very friendly. My wife, daughter and I arrived at 9:30am to drop off our bags since we had an early arrival, and were greeted with fresh pressed juice and espresso cake treats. While our room obviously wasn't ready yet, they were very accommodating and took our bags and provided us with a local map and recommendations for lunch. Being a Platinum Rewards member, I asked about the possibility of an upgrade, but because we were staying for a week, they could only offer a handi-accessible room which provided my young daughter some play area, and made the addition of her rollaway bed a non-issue. The executive lounge is well-stocked and provides a lovely breakfast and dinner buffet with long hours available. The pool in the basement and small gym offer some recreation, while the sauna was great to relax in. My only issues with our stay are that the turndown service was offered very late (9pm) and the knock at the door came after my daughter was already sleeping. While our room had plenty of space, the view through the windows was directly onto the outdoor patio of the adjacent restaurant, which meant that we had to pull the curtains fairly early in the evening if we wanted any privacy. My wife and I plan on returning in Jan '16 for a romantic getaway, so I hope that these aren't a concern, then.
"Perfect for Hyde Park"
Spent a weekend here and the location is perfect. Right next to a tube station and across the road from Hyde Park. Lovely hotel, great rooms and beautiful bathroom. Even though our room was directly over a bus stop no noise so never disturbed by the traffic.
"Great Service with a Hotel to Match"
My wife and I spent the weekend at the Park Lane and had a great time. The staff was amazing, quick to help or suggest ways we could enjoy our stay more. We were made to feel special from the moment we arrived (the chef had prepared small pumpkin pie tarts for those who missed Thanksgiving) until we were helped into our taxi. The hotel has a great location - right at the Marble Arch tube stop, and walking distance to many museums and attractions. Christmas decorations are out in London, and we loved the lights. The rooms appear freshly updated, with a number of luxury touches, including the bedding and amenities.
