"Provided just the break we needed!"
We greatly enjoyed our all-to-brief stay! The room was large, quiet and incredibly comfortable! We had a room facing Mass Ave. and we didn't hear a thing. Great downtown location, easy to all the events we were attending downtown. The breakfast the next morning was also really nicely done. I hope we are able to stay there again! However, parking was REALLY expensive- $47 for 24 hours (!!!)
"noisy if atrium facing room"
This is definitely a convention hotel, with center literally next door. If you are in an atrium facing room, be prepared for noise--particularly as there's loud "entertainment" in center of hotel that you will definitely hear. And center of hotel near lobby will feel like a shopping mall, with vendors hawking merchandise.
Great location-close to Metro, Chinatown, and convention center. Check in was a breeze and Julia was able to upgrade our room as a gold member. She then went on to to explain all the amenities of the hotel. Really made us feel as a valued guest. Room was large with an oversized shower. Kuerig coffee maker was an added bonus. Hotel staff was friendly and professional. Only complaint I would have is the M-lounge. Seemed to always be out of food and clean plates when we went up. It was like the staff couldn't keep up with the number of people using the lounge. Overall it was a great stay and will stay again.
"Perfect location for a meeting "
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and liked the location because it is right next to the convention center. I also liked the club lounge for breakfast and snacks. The room was clean on the first day but the daily cleaning was not so great. Bathroom amenities were so so as well. I will stay here again if I have to come to DC for a conference but will not stay here with a family for vacation.
"Very Impressed with Room, Service and Amenities"
I had an almost perfect stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. In DC, I would rate it slightly below my stay at the Mayflower and slightly better than my stay at the JW Marriott. The hotel itself is very massive. There is a Starbucks on site, very large lobby bar, multiple restaurants and bars, gift shop, fitness center and a 12th floor 24 hr spot with breakfast. Check-in was flawless. The valet were welcoming and efficient. The bellhops were very helpful. All of the staff was very friendly. The hotel room was immaculate and very nice sized. It was set-up very smart. There was a foyer like area with the bathroom on one side and on the other side a very large closet, and counter with coffee maker, drawer and empty mini-fridge that actually kept your drinks cold underneath. The desk was very large with plenty of room. There was a large oversized shower stall and spacious bathroom for a city hotel. Wi-Fi was free. I only have three small complaints. First, noise from the street was fairly loud. Second, I left a $5 tip for the chambermaid after the first night but didn't have change the second night. There was a significant difference in the quality of my room after service the first morning vs. the second morning. I guess that is to be expected but I never did that before so I was unprepared for how different the service would be. For example, my ice bucket wasn't cleaned and the plastic bag wasn't replaced; toiletries weren't replenished; stuff wasn't straightened up (like hair dryer, etc...) but again, I guess you get what you pay (tip) for. Lastly, the hotel must add a scent to the vents. There is a fairly overpowering smell to the air like the casino hotels in Las Vegas. It can get a bit off-putting. Still I really enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it.
