"As Good As Any "
Clean, semi-convenient and with all the necessary amenities. Restaurants are good and rooms comfortable. Pleasant and helpful staff. One to one and a half miles to most museums and sights. Not much retail nearby. Lovely lobby w/Starbucks attached.
"Comfortable rooms. "
Nice location. Comfortable beds and rooms. Lobby is a bit sterile with the tile floors and sparse decor, but the conference set up is good and it's close to the convention center. On SOTE restsurant is good. Friendly staff.
I had a great experience at the Marriott Marquis and would stay here again. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is convenient, especially if you have business in the adjacent convention center.
"Newer Hotel for a Conference"
It was time to return to Washington, DC for another conference. This time the event was held at the Marriott Marquis, a newer hotel (4-5 years old) that is one of the flagship properties within the Marriott chain. After flying across the country, I arrive by cab and was quickly checked into my room. Room was very nice and quiet. The only challenge was the the room was not 100% (I found lots of hair throughout the room from previous guest...I know...First world problems). There were days also that the towels were not replaced and old glasses were left on the counter. Due to my status, I was given a room on the M Club lounge. Which was huge and open 24 hours a day. The room offered breakfast, evening appetizers, and evening desserts. The also had alcohol available a at their honor bar. The neat thing in the room was that they offered two steamer machines for your clothes (nice touch). The Hotel had a great two story fitness center and a huge lobby. The hotel also discretely places all of the conference rooms in the four floors beneath the lobby. Wifi was good and I did not have any problems. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the Marriott Marquis. Since I was there during a snow storm, I was fortunate not to have to leave. If the hotel could focus a bit more on quality control of the cleaning efforts of the staff, it could easily receive 5 stars.
Very nasty hotel to deal with very very difficult to deal with the hotel and all the people there seem to have a chip on their shoulder since they're such a big very big hotel in Washington DC and I think they're the greatest I would not recommend this hotel mostly because of the attitude the rooms are nice and it is a new hotel added to the people there are absolutely horrible especially when trying to make a reservation
