"Updated/Modern, but Nothing Special"
This was a conference hotel - from the moment I checked in I wasn't impressed. I secured my reservation upon confirming conference location. When making reservations, I request rooms on high floors. At check-in, I was given a 4th floor room, nothing on a higher floor was available. I went to the room & found it to be very far from the elevator. I had heavy luggage & other bags, making it difficult to go that far. I went back to the front desk & requested another room. They gave me one on the 7th floor, which wasn't far from the elevator. The room was large, clean, updated/modern, & had a couch. The room's view was awful; a view of the other 3 sides of the hotel & the top of 2 taller buildings. I was literally in a hole. I asked for something else & they still had nothing. The next day, I forgot my room key. I went to the front desk & let them know I left my key in my room & needed another. After showing my ID they gave me a new one. Later that afternoon, I ran downstairs & was coming right back. I still didn't feel acclomated w/ the exact location & the room # so I grabbed my original key b/c it had the room # on the case. I came right back but was unable to get in my room. Frustrated, I went back to the front desk & told them I was unable to get in my room because my original keys were deactivated. They asked for my ID; I explained I left it in my room b/c I was planning to go right back up. The lady then said, w/ attitude, "you don't have your ID!" I said, "no". She called security to have them meet me @ my room & show my ID. I waited outside the room for security for about 5 minutes. When he showed up, he asked questions, I tried to answer & explain the situation, but he didn't seem to care & kept cutting me off. He let me in & asked to see my ID. After giving it to him, he studied it & said, "that looks like you". I then told him they didn't give me the card case w/ the room # & the card w/ the wifi info back. He looked at me & condescendingly said, "you can't remember your room #'" I said never mind & thanked him for his time. Throughout the conference, there were a # of issues: 1) a # of our employees were double booked, 2) food was mediocre, 3) no complimentary bottled water, & 4) prices @ the bar were ridiculous - 3 drinks were $45 & 1 was a beer. Nothing is worse than bad customer service & this hotel is filled w/ it. The prices are ridiculous, I moved to a great area in NYC for $50/night less. I won't be returning in the future.
"Brooklyn Marriott Review"
The Brooklyn Marriott was the host hotel of a conference hotel. This is a nice hotel, but not the best Marriott I have had the opportunity to stay at. The rooms were nice and most of the staff encountered were pleasant and responsive. Areas of improvement include: 1. Bellman at the curb should be more helpful with getting luggage to the front desk. 2. Staff in gift shop should not take personal calls while waiting on customers. Can understand emergency situations, but this was not an emergency. The phone should have been put down to focus on the customer. 3. Food was mediocre
"Marriott strandard "
Typical Marriott hotel. I did find a chicken wing remains in the frame of the bed. Gross! The meeting space is typical. The restaurant/bar staff was very slow. The burgers over cooked. I would never order food there again.
Very helpful and friendly staff. I needed to extend my stay by one night and the front desk staff was excellent. Extended easily with no issues. Room was clean as were the other areas of the hotel. Recommended !!
"No place better...."
From the moment you check in you are truly treated like a welcomed guest... the facilities are fantastic as if the food and services the hotel offers... the best place to stay to get all around the city...
