"Great Hotel, Centrally Located to food, shopping, and my clients"
Stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. Executive lounge and in house restaurante is fantastic. WiFi is better than most hotels. There are a ton of places to walk around to for eating and shopping. Room was clean, modern, and nice. My only complaint is my door did not close properly and had to be slammed open/closed to ensure it locked and latched right. EXPENSIVE at $389/night.
"Beauiful Property and Excellet Staff"
Stayed for 3 nights over a weekend. Greeted by professional and friendly front desk staff. Answered all our questions and gave us some great suggestions for dinner, and bar hopping on Smith Street. As a Marriott Elite member I was appreciative of the access to the M Club for breakfast and after hours water and juice. The restaurant staff was very friendly and accommodating.
"Beyond Excellent - Impressive Team"
Let me provide my standard disclosure. I rarely rate hotels 5 stars unless they are full-service and/or a resort property. This hotel exceeds the standard! I took my children to NYC for their first visit. Instead of staying in a hotel in Manhattan, it was recommended from a family member who lives in NYC, that we stay at the Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge because of it's great location. This property has a modern decor and my room was extremely clean. Arriving later in the evening, I was further impressed that the pullout sofa was prepared for our arrival. I was traveling with two young children and that took a big load off my shoulders of providing showers and getting them off to bed. That was one less issue to address. The first area of a suite that I inspect is the bathroom. If I see stray hairs on the floor or in the tub; it generally suggests to me that the hotel isn't well managed. As part of a management routine, they should periodically follow-up and ensure that rooms are serviced to standard. This location takes cleanliness very seriously and it shows not only in the suite, but in the common areas too. I found this location to be safe. My children and I walked to the Borough Subway station that is literally across the street next to Borough Hall. We walked in multiple blocks in various directions and had no concerns. When you arrive at the hotel late night, access to the guest floors are restricted by security staff that check guests keys. NYPD presence in the area is strong and were helpful providing the occasional location direction needed. If you're able to venture out of the hotel, down convention time, and/or looking for different dining options.....it's Brooklyn! There are tremendous eaters and restaurants next door, around the corner, and/or down the street. The Marriott M Club is a great option too.....I would suggest getting there early in the morning as it becomes congested later in the morning. I'm grateful that my family member recommended this location as it will be my go-to Marriott property while visiting the city. On another note, the Operations Director, John McPartlan is an asset to Marriott or the company that owns this hotel. As a Platinum Elite member of Marriott's rewards program; I made contact with him in advance of my stay, two requests. I requested an advance upgrade to a suite along with a high floor. He was able to accommodate me and my family to a suite. The hotel was fully booked and had several wedding parties; a high-floor suite wasn't available. I was grateful that Mr. McPartlan considered my request from the onset. John is a team member that is responsive. Preparing for my trip, I received a late night email from Mr. McPartlan explaining that the hotel was fully booked. Some directors and managers at other locations, probably would let one show-up and get their room key and essentially find out on their own. It must be stated that Mr. McPartlan committed to circling back with me, and he closed the loop by a series of emails at 1:30 a.m................this demonstrates to me, a level of commitment. Thank you to the staff of the Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge.
This hotel is impressive! Location is as convenient as it gets in the area. Right next to the Jay Street and Boroughs subway stop. Front desk personnel was one of the nicest I have encountered in our recent stays. Shout out to Jeffrey!! So nice.. His boss Sam.. also very nice. Rooms are modern, large windows. My only input would be to get more storage areas in the room, like drawers. Closet is very close and ironing board takes half of it!.
"NO REST. "
This hotel has some of the LOUDEST housekeeping staff in the world!!!! I travel for work and use the daytime to rest and I barely get any. I understand that 9-5 is a busy time for the housekeeping staff but they do not respect the DO NOT DISTURB signs AT ALL!! The call out to each other down the hallways and slam doors all day. There is nothing good about this. Despite this and the average customer service at THE PANTRY (cafe), this hotel is good and in a great location in Brooklyn.
