"Needs an update ..."
Checked into the hotel - asked for a deposit of 9000 baht on the room. I refused as the bill had been paid in the UK for the accommodation. They accepted this . The rooms, although clean are in need of updating. Lower ground rooms have a pool view, while the higher floors have a sea view. On entering my room, there was a pool of water behind the door. The bell boy called house keeping to get it cleaned - later a maintenance guy had to come and repair the air conditioning. I was offered an alternative room but by this time I had unpacked. Some fruit was delivered to my room as an apology. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The staff work hard to keep everything looking good. A very good pool also - an adjoining smaller pool for children about 2 feet deep. Excellent location - near to Walking street and the shopping malls. All in all a very good hotel that needs a little updating.
"Old, Very Good Service, Friendly Staffs, Not Worth the Price - No longer Marriott by end of Oct 2016"
Location - convenient, next to a mall which leads to the beach access, lots places to eat and walking distance to the popular street. Old - need major renovation, which the hotel is in the progress. Yet, not up to Marriott Resort & Spa. Maybe that is why Marriott decided to sell the property to a new hotel group that is very large in Asia. Staffs - very friendly, great service and sincere Based on the current condition, the price this hotel charges is not worth. There are other resorts that offer better packages. Pattaya in general is not suited for any family vacation.
"It will be missed"
Just finished spending a long weekend here before it deflags in a few weeks. Been coming here since it was a Royal Garden and have always enjoyed our stays. Will miss my hotel business talks with Khun Somsak, who I've known for way over 20 years, as well as his more then capable staff, including Khun Jantima (Pui) and Sujitra (Kat). Was able to see some of the refurbished "mock up" rooms and they'll be nice. Asked if I'll be back once the hotel reflags - frankly I can't say yea or nay as one never knows but I wish them all the best of luck under their new flag.
"Best Hotel In Pattaya"
Ive stayed at this hotel many times and unfortunately it will no longer be a marriott property. I will say as long as the same standards are maintained it will still be my only hotel of choice when staying in Pattaya...Everything about this place is 5 stars, location is perfect and the pool and garden is amazing you won't go wrong staying here i just wish it would have remained a marriott (for my points)......
Beautiful relaxing resort , very quite , excellent service with extremely friendly staff. the rooms are very clean and cozy . I miss the big swimming pool. the hotel has 2 access the main door attached to the mall ,a and the backyard door which easily connects to the beach street. this hotel was one of the main reasons made my stay at Pattaya beautiful.
