"Very Nice Hotel, Conveniently Situated"
We stayed at the hotel earlier this year and found it to have been good value for the price. It's been recently renovated to a high standard. The staff at the front desk were helpful and spoke good English. The location is very convenient for the EU and traveling to the center of Brussels. There are numerous good affordable restaurants in the neighborhood as well.
"Nice and well located"
I visited the Martin's hotel with my school in Octobre. It is a very design and modern hotel. The hotel is also new. The staff is very welcoming. All rooms are decorated in a different style. The fact that the hotel diffuse its own perfume is also very nice. The twin able beds are also a good idea because can you seperate then if your with a collegue or a friend. The en-suite bubble bath are also great because it is personnal and don’t need to go to the spa or share it with the other custumers. The hotel is well located, it is in the heart of the European district and only 5 minutes from the city centre ( subway) witch is very useful. On the contrary, there isn’t a balcony or a terrace view. Plus, having a minibar in the room is useful but when you are only there for a fiew days and don’t want to go to the store, it is harm not to have it full. On the whole, the hotel is very nice and well located.
I use this hotel a lot as it's perfectly placed for anything in the European Quarter and close to the Metro for getting to the Grand Place etc. The hotel itself is warm and welcoming and - for someone who often travels alone - feels very safe. The rooms are great with all the facilities you need and the bar and restaurant are also really good - the steak is excellent and one of the best I've eaten in Brussels. The staff are professional, helpful and efficient and go the extra distance to make sure you have what you need. I have recommended this hotel to lots of colleagues and friends and those who have used the hotel say the same.
"Should be a three star hotel"
The room was stark and bare. Not even a floor-length mirror, iron, or room service menu was in the room. Nothing on the walls, not even art. The entire room felt really sterile. For 275 Euros per night! It's surprising that things like an iron and floor length mirror aren't in the room, as the hotel is so close to the EU commission (probably the main thing going for it) and since it's supposed to be four stars. Iron was available on request only. Overall very disappointed with the room. Both check in and check out processes were disorderly. Staff seemed to be in a bad mood from the start and couldn't find my Expedia reservation at first. On checkout, they overcharged me for the room even though I showed them my Expedia reservation with the prices, they kept the higher price and said someone from customer relations would contact me. Really!'!' Restaurant attendant was very unpleasant and seemed in a bad mood too; it seemed that she was upset to be asked questions or that someone would want to get breakfast before 7am. Breakfast only starts at 7am although hotel is located in a business area. Hotel should consider starting breakfast earlier or have takeaway bags readily available for guests who leave earlier. This is supposed to be a four star hotel so that wouldn't be unreasonable. Also four star hotels usually try to please their guests but the hotel staff that I ran into just seemed generally annoyed at guests, except for one woman at the check in who was pleasant.
"A beautiful hotel at walking distance of the EU."
If you're looking for a great modern styled hotel in a great ambiance with good beds in a great room with a restaurant where you can have a great meal, than Martins EU is the place for you. The location is at walking distance from the EU community offices (about 200 meters) and this hotel got its own parking garage. When you enter the hotel you'll notice the modern interior and the good smell what you find in every Martin Hotel (I spend many times in Martins Patershof, Mechelen, also beautiful hotel build in a church). The staff is very friendly and checkin process is fast. The room is very clean, nice bathroom and cosy. You will sleep very well on the big beds. (I did. :-) ) If you decide for a dinner at the hotel, reserve a table at Icones, the restaurant. A simple menu where you can choose from but excellent dishes. You have the choice of a 3 or 4 service dinner for 39 or 49 euro, or a la carte (excl drinks of course) so well priced. The breakfast was a buffet with plenty things to choose from, inclusive cava. My conclusion was a great stay at the hotel and I think you will have so as well.
