My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights during the second week in October. We had been looking forward to coming to Bruges and I put a lot of work into finding a suitable hotel and I was so happy I did because this hotel is a gem. The location is perfect... 5 minutes to the Square and all it's historical buildings, set on a canal and really within walking distance of everything. We loved the old world décor and the fact that the hotel was a bit of a maze. Our room was spacious with a wonderfully comfortable bed and the best pillows be found on our whole trip and a lovely bathroom with a bath that I actually fell asleep in. It overlooked the front courtyard and was very quiet at night. The breakfast buffet was a real treat with plenty of tasty options after some awful buffets we had experienced in other parts of Europe. We found the staff to be friendly and welcoming and would recommend this Hotel to anyone thinking of coming to stay in Bruges. It's a long way from Australia but we certainly hope to come back again in the next couple of years.
"Fantastic for a Conference!"
I booked this for a 20 person conference over 3 days, and am delighted with the whole experience. The planning was so meticulous (thanks Dieter), and then when we needed to change several things around on arrival, nothing was too much bother (thanks Sophie). All the delegates were really happy with the quirky and different rooms, and the service at the bar was instantaneous, even if empty when you arrived. Help with directions, cabs, changing lunch times, and luggage was always friendly and no problem. I cannot recommend it highly enough - a welcome change from identikit corporate chains.
"One of our favourite hotels"
We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it is consistently good. Each room is individual, but all have character and are clean, well-appointed and comfortable, albeit that some are "cosy". Breakfast, a little expensive, is excellent and offers a good selection, including "bubbles", well worth the cost. Limited garage parking is available a short distance from the hotel and, being in Bruges, is not cheap, but, again worth the charge, because you can leave your car securely for the duration of your stay. The staff are efficient, helpful and welcoming. We hope to keep returning.
"Great hotel, bit of a maze"
We went there with a group of friends, we all had rooms in different parts of the hotel. It took a while to know to way to the other rooms. The hotel was very clean and the staff was really friendly. The courtyard is a very nice place to sit and have a drink during the summer.
"Excellent Stay At Marin's Relais"
We stayed at this hotel for a 3 day break after lot's of searching for a hotel. After a 1.30 hour train from the airport we decided to get a taxi from the station €7 to the hotel. First impressions lovely inside very stately home feel and cosy, the reception staff we're very polite and helpful giving us a nice guide and some tips. Our room had a canal view, very nice inside comfy bed modern bathroom. Our room was very warm but the 2 very large windows we're very easy to open and as a backup the air con worked perfectly. I would advise take some ear plugs we always do where ever we travel the road is outside it's not very busy you get a few cars and horses going past but it's worth it for the relaxed view. The location is perfect 5 mins work to the square. I would say visit Ribs & Beer amazing food, do the Half man Brewery tour this was excellent. Climb the tower if your ok with tight spaces go early as it get's busy. We would return to this hotel I found the sevice excellent and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was till 11am on the weekend and it has everything even Cava bonus!!
