"Great location, nice staff. "
Great location, 5 minutes walk to the main square. Staff were very nice, helped us with organising a bus to the airport and printed our tickets for us. Hotel room was really big. Would definitely recommend it.
"Idyllic hotel in Bruges"
Highly recommended. The hotel is absolutely beautiful - the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are very cute. The location is also perfect - 5 min walking distance from the centre. We really had a great time ... wonderfully calming weekend :)
"right at the heart of Bruges"
This place is a bit od fashioned but being in the center of Bruges, it definitevely pass you the mood of the atmosphere of the city around it. It is a labyrinth of corridor and floors, made in wooden materials, some rooms have the canal view, some others not. But I liked my stay there, few steps from the central square and right in front of a canal.
"Lovely hotel with unique decoration style"
The hotel is close to the center, but 20-30 minutes walk to the train and bus station. It's decorated in a romantic style. Every room has different style so it is not sure that you will stay at the one you see when you make the reservation. That's what happened with us. Some rooms have excellent view at the canal. The breakfast however is very expensive.
"Avoid "Charming" room 8 at all costs"
We had pre-booked accommodation (via Expedia) to stay at Hotel Martin's Relais and our friendly receptionist directed us to the "Charming room 8" opposite the reception area on ground floor. The word "charming" clearly had secret private connotations for the worst hotel room ever offered to guests. "Charming" room 8 (with garden view according to hotel and room data) clearly had different views to ours as the picturesque view from our room was of a courtyard out to road. Yes, there was a window box garden view but predominently it was a front entrance out to road. The room had dimensions the size of a shoebox and was tardy with creaking room/bathroom doors and an old-fashioned finish to the room. "Charming" room 8 is situated on ground floor a few metres away from reception and we heard every whispering conversation from reception and main entrance / walk through. I IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A QUALITY NIGHTS SLEEP AS every hushed conversation from reception or 'click' from high-heeled shoe resonated through room 8. Room 8 had a big-enough double bed with about an amaxing space of about 2 ft between end-of-bed and wall. The wardrobe had an impressive 3 (yes three) empty hangers and my wife & I fought over who could use this impressive amount. Bathroom contained all the basic requirements but, like bedroom, was scarily small and every movement required skill not to knock other items. We are still trying to determine whether our room was unique but this was by far the worst room we have ever stayed in. All overnight movements through reception were amplified through room 8 and the 'joys' of high-heeled walking at about 3AM were the very last straw. We had been so looking forward to period of relaxation but this hotel provided the total opposite and was the worst hotel room we've ever stayed in. The 'charming' receptionist had politely declined any change of room but we were unsure whether this was she would'nt or couldn't change. Struggling to find any redeeming feature of this hotel room. Distance between end of the double bed and wall was about 2" so making it so difficult to pass by during darkness etc. Probably the worst hotel we've ever stayed &60
