"I Loved this Establishment"
The staff at this hotel are beyond kind. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly to my boyfriend and I. The young man Jonathan at the front desk was very kind. He is the perfect example of customer service. Also the concierge made us feel at home and made himself open to him if we needed anything. We appreciated the treatment here. Everything was beautiful, and the location was perfect. I had a perfect stay at this hotel and I will make sure I visit again in the near future. I will be recommending this hotel to others.
Hotel accommodations were very nice and convenient location fit our needs. In Miami for personal business and will reserve for a third stay. On our first stay we were given an executive suite which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. On second stay, room was a little smaller but still clean and comfortable. We will reserve for a third stay.
"Overpriced and disappointing"
Stayed at the Mayfair Hotel and Spa during the week of 17 October. Room: The room was on the 4th floor, nr 414). It was a standard room for this hotel. The room was large enough, so was the bed. The brochure mentioned...."welcome to the newly renovated luxury Mayfair Hotel and Spa...". Guess the brochure was from the 70's, since it was a really old looking and worn out hotel. The room smelled like mold, very unpleasant. The room was very dirty. The was dust everywhere, the fire extinguisher was covered under dust. Also the cleaners did not clean at all. I noticed this from e.g. a dead insect on the ground, that was not taken away. Speaking about insects, in the bathroom you can find some walking around. The bathroom was as dirty as the room. Very disappointing. The balcony was large, but view was 100% blocked. It was some kind of cube. There was a Japanese bathtub which you could use against payment. But it looked so worn out, that even for free you would not like to go in it. Reception: Everyone was very polite and friendly. But to request and return an umbrella turned out to be a rather complicated and time consuming exercise. First you have to fill out a form in order to get an umbrella. When you return the umbrella, you have to sign something again, but for the reception to find the paperwork took ages. One evening order one water bottle. After one hour, it still was not delivered. Breakfast: The breakfast quite standard. There were birds at the buffet, no one seemed to bother. Location: For Coconut Grove a good location, but nothing to get too excited about. There are better locations up north at the beach. Overall: This is definitely an overpriced place. I would not stay there again.
Beautiful hotel. Staff was amazing, especially the bar staff. We ended up getting a complimentary upgrade to our room and it was one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. We will be staying here again!!!
Hotel and staff were excellent. Really enjoyed happy hour on the roof (complimentary massage) followed by Japanese soaking tub on terrace. Staff accommodating to feather allergy brought new pillows immediately. Next time need to plan ahead and call for tub set up in advance . Takes about an hour to fill and heat. Well worth it. Perfect stay and location for visiting our son at UM. We will be back !
