"Great 1 night stay "
I was in transit through avianca and one of their flights was late, causing me to miss my connection. They put me up at Melia and what a treat! The staff was super nice, the bed huge and very comfortable, great food and best of all, the spa! Got a great deep tissue message then got to enjoy the very steamy sauna. Very relaxing and perfect way to break apart a long trip. I see some of the reviews talk about noise - I was on the street side on the second floor and am Very sensitive to noise - I could hear cars but honestly it wasn't loud enough to Be bothersome.
"The staff is not well prepared"
The manager of the hotel is a very nice and professional woman. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff is not like her and look like "trainees", one was not polite, another made a massive mistake on the bill and was in trouble to repair it. However, the room were very good, the bed good of good quality and the hotel has a "spa" which actually just a sauna and a hammam but the massages we had were amazing!! We were at the "level" and had a access to the lounge where we could get plenty of food and drink, that was well appreciated
There we have a very nice experience from beginning to end, have very good facilities and location. Security and peace that our belongings were safe is always a priority for us and we have no complaints. The best experience were with concierge that help to sort out activities and to solve our doubts. Thanks Jose Maria.
"Right hotel, wrong location"
My husband and I are staying in this hotel overnight en route to Cusco. This hotel is very nice; the rooms are very spacious and clean, the hotel staff is very professional and courteous, and the hotel breakfast buffet is convenient with a good (not great) selection of both traditional breakfast and non-breakfast items. Upon arrival, we were upgraded (for an additional, nominal fee of $30US per night including daily breakfast which is typically $20US per person) to a premium suite. The only problem is the location. First, the hotel is located in the business district, not within walking distance of most attractions for first time visitors. Also not accessible to public transportation but a cab/Uber ride to downtown or Mirafloras is only $20 PES away. But most importantly, the hotel is located in a very busy street with a lot of traffic noise, as other reviewers have mentioned. Because I live in a city, I am used to traffic noise, even sirens, and thought - upon previously reading the reviews - this would not be a significant problem for us; however, the windows don't appear to be double-paned/sound-dampening and this hotel is near a very busy intersection/traffic circle where there is the CONSTANT honking of horns. After later riding through Lima, I became aware that everyone loves to honk their horns. :)
"Our Lima Experience"
First time visit to Lima. Melia proved to be a very pleasant welcome and experience. Every staff member made us feel welcomed and language was never an issue. While location is bit removed from main site staff assisted with taxi
