"Terrible experience would not return"
NEGATIVES -Power went out while I was working disconnecting the wifi, and in the restaurant during b-day dinner -Bad selection of food -Eggs are runny, bacon is under cooked, food is always cold -Service is very slow -Waitresses do not walk around the beach and bring drinks to everyone -Room is very very plain -Hot water limited in the tub -Mattress and pillows are subpar -They are not responsible for your safety if you participate in motor sports -All the rooms are the same, no upgrades -Roomservice has an additional fee of $10! -All inclusive wristband is $200 if you loose it -Towels are very poor quality, all they need is downy -AC is terrible -Resort is small -They do allow children -Lots of birds and flies while eating -Not a lot of entertainment on the resort -They need A LOT more beach chairs under the tree huts on the beach, if you’re not there early you have to be in the sun -Ledge in and out of sliding glass door is a hazard POSITIVES -Water sports are cheap -Lots of drug solicitation available if that how you party -drinks are good, strongest at any resort I’ve been to -Exchange rate is dollar for dollar -Water is warm and clean -Kids presence wasn’t overwhelming -Swimming with the dolphins is the cheapest I’ve seen at any resort
"Not bad, not fantastic"
I forgot to post a review of our stay but here is a quick summary. Pros: Beach is the probably the nicest I have seen. Calm blue water. White sand. Beds were comfortable. A lot of activities to do near the beach. Be sure to go on Bay West Adventures right next door. Worth it and well priced. Cons: Rooms a little small for a family. Food was just average. Service was just ok. Overall enjoyed our trip but wasn't anything spectacular. Probably wouldn't go back but we did enjoy it. It's a reasonably priced all inclusive for Bahamas. At Atlantis you would pay a LOT more! I would give it 3.5 stars.
"Take your money somewhere else"
Check in: it took us 45 minutes to check in and we were the first ones in line. It's just ridiculous slow. No one showed us where the restaurants were or even or room, no one took our baggage to our room or even offered to do so. Room: our room is extremely old, in fact the celling of our shower just fell down. They don't know how to deal with crises. Restaurants: you can only reserve 2 days in advance and for they day we got here it was all full, we had to go to the buffet. The market place buffet serves food always cold, and very little variety. Also every time you are going to be seated they ask your last name, room service and to show your bracelete, so you can imagine how crowed it gets when you have a huge line up. We tried the barbecue night (didn't have any barbecue, only fried chicken. The food is plain and very average (a bit below sometimes). Drinks: takes from 45 to 1 hours to get a drink from a waitress and 15-20 min from the bar. Everyone seems to be doing a favor to you, even though you had paid more than 500 bucks per night. Overall this hotel is not worth it, I have gotten better deals in a lot of other places, staff is absurdly slow. Get the slower service you had and add 25% more time on it. They say no to everything, no take out to the bedroom unless your are vip, no robe in the room (even though some cheap hotels have it). No even mention how old everything is.
"Really enjoyed our stay!"
Just got back from a 4 night stay. The hotel is very nice. The beach was nice but very narrow and you felt like you were on top of everyone. Pool was very nice with music and games in the afternoon. We had booked a pool view but were given an ocean view at no extra cost on the 4th floor #410. 4th floor really convenient because it was where the restaurants were and the lobby was just down the stairs but it was far enough away you couldn't hear noise. The king bed was very comfortable and bathroom was nice. Looks like all rooms have a nice size balcony. Garden views have a good size terrace on the bottom floors. The restaurants were pretty good. There are 3 main restaurants and the buffet. The steakhouse isn't included in all inclusive and was very expensive. You can make 2 nights of reservations at a time. It would be good if they had more restaurants to choose from. At night they have outdoor shows some nights. While we were there they had a latin night, a dating game competition and a comedian. They also have a DJ that plays music most nights. Most things took place inside. Also the restaurants are inside except when they have a BBQ night. The people who work there are very nice. I had read reviews that others said they weren't very nice. I don't understand because they were very attentive. The check in process was very slow. They have trips you can book. We went snorkeling. They also have some jet skis and water things you can use. When you walk the beach you see a lot of buildings that were empty. They say when Atlantis was built it took away the business. They are in the process of putting in 2 new hotels so it should be nice when finished. As you walk you will see the beach is bigger down that end. All in all it was a nice trip and a nice place to stay. Probably won't go back only because we like to check out new places and the beach even though very nice was a little too small for us.
"Our 25th Anniversary Holiday at Melia"
My wife and I decided to take a two week holiday to the Bahamas for our 256h Anniversary....I booked our trip and then contacted the hotel directly to upgrade our room to the Level....At first I was talking to a girl by the name of Secoya who was so helpful in helping me get exactly when I wanted that I told her I would bring some souveniers from Canada for her, even though she said that it was not necessary ....A couple of weeks before our trip was to take place, I phoned the Melia to speak to Secoya, only to find out that she no longer worked at the Melia....and I was now going to be dealing with Cecilia Sit who is the Quality Manager and who turned out to be the nicest person and also the nicest person to deal with and when she found out it was to be for our 25th Anniversary holiday, she went out of her way to make sure it was the best holiday ever...She ended up upgrading us from a room on the Level to the Presidential Suite at no extra cost to us and went so far as to get in touch with Secoya to give her the gifts we had brought for her. and actually had Secoya come to the hotel to meet us.... All the staff, bot on the beach and in the hotel itself were all very helpful and very friendly...I would like to say a big thank you to Jordon, Cedric, and Rhinnon who were our waiters on the beach and they were the best....never saw a time when they weren't smiling...I think they were having more fun then we were....Would also like to thank all the Level staff who were also very helpful when it came to booking meals, etc. As far as the hotel itself, there are some places where it use a little upgrading, but all in all, it was very nice...our suite was always very clean, and housekeeping did a great job for us every day... The food was decent, and both the Market Place and the O'Grill were great places to have breakfast or lunch.... At this point I would like to say a special hi to Cecelia, who, again, knowing it was a special holiday for my wife and I, at a private party for all Level guests, arranged for a professional photographer to be present to take our pictures as a gift from the hotel.. Again, Cilicia, thank you very much.... All in all, because of Cecelia, Secoya, and all of the staff at the Melia, we could not have had a better holiday and hope to return to see them all again...
