The location of the Meliá Paulista in São Paulo could not be better. The hotel is located in Avenida Paulista, one of the main and largest business centres in Brazil. The list of tourist attractions and establishments nearby is extensive from museums, such as the São Paulo Museum of Art – MASP, to parks, such as the Trianon Park. Access is another advantage of the Meliá Paulista. Nearby there is a metro station, a bus stop and it is easy to hail taxis. Furthermore, the Congonhas airport is only 15 minutes away by car and the International Airport of Guarulhos is 30km away.

"Many better options if you want real 5* in Sao Paulo"
I have been travelling for work to Sao Paulo now for nearly 17 years and never have I felt the need to write a review of a hotel. I have stayed in the very basic, just off the Augusta, to the standard business hotels (the Tryps and the Blue Trees) to my favourite hotel in the world the Fasano. In the mix of all these the Melia Paulista undoubtedly was the most disappointing on all counts. Yes the lobby is cool, the decorations funky and exciting and the staff helpful enough, but after that it fell far short of the 5* hotel it claims to be. My room is tiny. Never have I had a room so small at this price. The carpet is old and not nice (to be fair they did ask if I wanted a room with no carpet). All the furniture and fittings are shabby and past it. The safe does not work and the flush sticks. A small switch by the side of the card / electricity slide accidentally hit, apparently turned on a do not disturb light which meant my room has not been cleaned. Overall the room feels depressing and cramped which I have never felt when staying in any hotel here. There are many options in this incredible city and I am certainly thinking of leaving early to book into somewhere else.
"Paulista Melia Hotel review"
Safe hotel, but below global standards. Good central area and busy. Food was good, fresh, but general amenities were very mediocre. Rooms facing Paulista were very noisy. The condition of the rooms is old but sufficiently maintained.
"Very Good Hotel"
The hotel is very fine, compared to the ones that I'm used to stay. I didn't have any big issues, excepted by an issue with a fee for Internet that was canceled during checkout. Breakfast nice, good internet, clean rooms, good bathroom.
"Great hotel "
I frequently stay at Melia properties because they are consistently good. This hotel was no exception. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great food, etc. I had one mishap with room service but that can happen anywhere. And it was probably a language barrier issue which can only be expected. I would absolutely stay here again.
"Average Business Hotel"
The lobby and other facilities are in much better shape than the rooms. E.g. the carpet was worn out and overall the room was outdated. The change of floor material to wood etc. would be a great improvement. However, my room was quite big and the bed was comfortable. I also liked the breakfast, because there were plenty to choose from (I stayed for 5 nights). I especially liked the fruits and delicious fresh juices. The hotel is in the heart of Avenida Paulista, so there are shops, cafes & restaurants nearby. On Sundays the street becomes a place for multiple activities, such as fitness classes, music performances and there are vendors of nice arts and crafts (great for souvenirs).
