"Great hotel "
I checked in very late, reception were friendly and checked my in efficiently. As it was my birthday I was upgraded to a premier room, very impressed with the size of the room very specious with a large bathroom. I can't fault this hotel at all. It's in a good location ( near everything) , friendly staff , good breakfast and fantastic rooms. I will be staying there again!
"Comfortable relaxing stay"
I stayed for 3 nights at the Mercure Bratislava and thoroughly enjoyed my experience from the ease of check in , cleanliness of the property and professionalism of the staff. 2 minutes from the main train station (for a trip to Vienna) & the final stop for the 61 bus from the airport , 15- 20 walk to the old city centre (no hills), reception have maps available. The hotel has a modern feel when entering ,restaurant and bar on the ground floor , bedrooms good size with free Wi Fi , Tea / coffee , fridge, desk , large TV on the wall, safe , soft bed & pillows, good furnishing, good bathroom with a large bath which has 2 shower attachments, separate toilet. Superb selection of breakfast options with a large variety of breads. Overall I would recommend the hotel for business or leisure stays.
"Lovely stay "
Beautiful modern and clean hotel, located around 15 minute walk from centre, easy to walk backwards and forwards and we felt so safe even at night. Minutes from the main train station where we got the train to Vienna one day. The staff are really lovely, such a nice touch when they gave my little baby boy a choice of a cuddly toy when we checked in, I've never came across that anywhere else. Executive lounge was nice, would be better if you could get soft drinks in there, was only juice and water - even better if a glass of wine was available! :-) Rooms were very clean and modern would definitely stay again
"Good value for money"
Mercure Bratislava Centrum Hotel is situated 15 minutes walk from the historic Old Town. As hotel is situated close to the railway station public transportation is excellent. Hotel was very full during my stay and the well trained staff managed to provide satisfactory service. Executive Lounge is relatively small, but well designed with a small but good selection of food and non alcoholic beverages. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant is very good with a wide selection. Unfortunately the rooms are rather small, but the bathrooms are rather spacious
"Bad choice for older folks or the modest"
As I'm getting older, it's frustrating to deal with hotels that make my life difficult. This Mercure is a good example of that. Location: It's a short walk downhill from the train station, but an UPHILL walk dragging luggage back to your departing train. Bad area with shady characters and homeless around. Hotel: Stairs at the entrance are just not welcoming for those with luggage. Room: Bathroom tub & shower are completely exposed to the room with a glass wall. What'' What idiot design is that'' ZERO privacy. Bathtub/ shower has a 24" high side that I had to climb over just to get in - and it's very slippery with no support handles - so be careful. My biggest peeve was the espresso machine that was complicated to figure out and ultimately unusable. Plus, it was filthy with used coffee pods wedged down into the thing. Doesn't housekeeping check these things' Overall I think a better choice is to stay closer to the historic center in a more user-friendly hotel.
