"OMGosh! Treated Like Royalty!"
We were given 3 vouchers for a night's stay at their suite, spa treatment and dinner. When we arrived, one of the biggest hiccup was forgetting to bring the vouchers! Panic set in as we were not sure whether we were able to stay as we had by then travelled quite a distance from Hong Kong... When we arrived at the hotel, we were served by the Front Office staff named Meko. When told of our predicament, she proceeded to put our minds at ease and mentioned that there were copies of the vouchers that we had sent earlier and that we can couriered them after... A huge relief set in as we would otherwise have to go back to Hong Kong just to come back with the vouchers... Not only will it cost us time, it will cost us extra US$80 just to do so! Meko proceeded to guide us to the VIP Hotel which was on the other side of MGM and we were further served by Francis who made every effort to extend the warmest welcome and made us comfortable, serving us drinks and getting all the check-in paperwork organized. He also proceeded to arrange with the spa centre and restaurant to ensure that the vouchers were indeed valid and accepted at this stage despite not being to present them upfront... We were then taken to an exclusive elevator access showed to our room and this was where OMGosh set in and took our breath away! Our room was massive! Our sophisticated room has a flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi with sitting areas and sea views through floor-to-ceiling windows! Our suite also has a kitchenette, the living room was stylish! A huge jacuzzi sit in front of the floor to ceiling windows with electronic curtains opening up to reveal the most amazing scenery of Macau! When dusk set in, the different lights and decorations came alive to reveal just the most beautiful spectrum of sights and colours! Not only that, in the kitchenette, the fridge was stocked with beer, wine and beverages and they were all complimentary except for the wine (sigh, if only!) There was also a coffee machine and hot water urn and a box filled with fragrant coffee and tea of various flavours! In all our stay in hotels in different countries, this was by far one of the best and most memorable! After settling in, we went downstairs to their Sky Roof Plaza is another sight to behold! Their current display of a massive aquarium filled with beautiful marine fishes and theme of butterflies... Absolutely stunning! We had dinner at one of their French restaurants and the food was just simply amazing and delicious! When our stay came to an end, their hospitality and professionalism did not stop! They proceeded to organize our ferry tickets, transport to the harbour and even had a MGM staff to help me and my husband to the counter, checked us in! It was all the nice little gestures and extras that really made us feel so special and welcomed! The staff at MGM were absolutely professional, courteous and really went out of their way to make each and every guest felt at home and just so nice!
I set the bar high, so maybe that's why I was disappointed. A little bit more from this hotel would have been nice. Being the MGM brand I assumed it would be pure luxury, but compared to it's American competitors like Wynn and Venetian properties, I did not think it was up to the same standard even though they charge the same price if not more. If they modeled the room after their American property, just like the Wynn does, I think it would be a much better room. The property itself is very nice, but I did not particularly like the rooms. The hotel is old, and you could feel the rooms age. They should do some upgrades on the room. In addition, the room was a bit small and really had that typical Asian room feeling with a very hard bed which I did not like. I would much rather stay at the Wynn which has better amenities in the room such as better power outlets, and a remote control for the lights and drapes. Also a larger, brighter, more comfortable room. In addition the shower is small, and I don't particularly like the coloring or the tiles in the bathroom. MGM should really replace the beds. For the price, I would expect a bit more from MGM. They should renovate the rooms, or bring them up to standard with Wynn. Hell, they should bring them up to standard with their property in Vegas! If you're going to pay this price, you should stay at Venetian, Wynn, or one of the CityofDreams hotels.
If Las Vegas is too far from you, try the MGM Macau, get mesmerized with the welcoming views of the grand lobby and the Macanese Staff. Got extra bucks feel rich at the casinos and sign up with their membership to benefit if you planning for long stay.
Absolute pleasure and worth the money. Rooms were nice and spacious with excellent view. They have excellent shuttle service which allows you easy access to the ferry so anytime. All the in-house facility was perfect, the stay , staff , F&B and the hotels everything was just right !!
"Many-splendid 5-star Lux Hotel & Casino with Fabulous F&B"
Ideal weekend getaway in a dreamlike MGM world encompassing great art gallery, "butterfly garden" leading to the grand Cantonese restaurant and Rossio Cafe etc., and a grand well-managed smoking-free casino ! The F&B items in the Chinese restaurant and Western cafe and bar may be somewhat outshined by their excellent customer service. The Rossio's buffet tag is overpriced @ USD60 compared to its Chinese cuisines in Imperial Court. If you could locate the top service staff, JoJo Lin in Rossio Cafe, you could be truly pampered by her 5-star personal hospitality ...
