"Lovely Hotel In Perfect Location"
We stayed 2 nights in The Bostonian and it was the perfect choice. We had a lot to cover in Boston in 2 days coming from Melbourne and with weather being somewhat inclement this location was brilliant. The Union Oyster House 2 minutes away, very close to the North End Italian district. Freedom Trail, Boston Common, Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall everything. The rooms were super spacious and the staff were very helpful despite being super busy. For sure I will return
"Comfortable, friendly and well-located!"
Having never stayed there, The Bostonian was a pleasant surprise. Our greeting after a difficult trip was so pleasant and welcoming, from the friendly staff and warm fireplace, to the helpful concierge who secured last-minute dinner reservations for us. Our room was spacious and comfortable. And the location is perfect for accessing the Boston historical sites. I would definitely stay again.
"Good location but outdated property"
The location is very good if you are looking for proximity to the historic sites and the North End. The hotel has the necessary basics (we did get free wifi) and the lobby is updated (although not my style). I can see they are trying to update here and there in the rooms too - the faucets and fixtures in the bathroom were new - and that was good. Room sufficiently big. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is very outdated. The colors are way too dark, there is carpeting everywhere, the bathroom colors are dark too, with a rich orange paint, wood that looks like cherry wood etc. Hard to tell also how clean when you get so much pattern and lack of light colors. Also, the fridge was packed with drinks and you could NOT take them out (it is one of those that will charge you if you remove anything). NOT good, especially when you travel with kids who may need milk at night or yogurt for breakfast or whatnot. This was the only hotel on this trip that did not let us use the fridge. The parking was also way too expensive at $50 for the night.
"Very noisy rooms"
The hotel itself is in a very nice location and rooms are spacious and clean. Unfortunately I found rooms to be very noisy. Upon checking in late on a Sat evening (after a 24+h journey), I was given a room on 5th floor above a night club. Even 5 floors above, it was really noisy. After requesting a new room, they have moved me to face the other side of the building (main square), which was significantly better but you can still hear everything that happens outside. From service perspective, i was also very disappointed with room service. Ordered dinner which was suppose to take 30 min
"Close to almost everything "
Booked this place for a weekend trip with my husband based on reviews. We were very happy with our choice. The room was nice (beautiful bathroom!) and the lobby was cozy and inviting. We enjoyed that it's positioned in the heart of the area where the Faneuil Hall marketplace is and a short walk to all the other major tourist attractions (north end, Boston Commons etc...) in the area. Definitely the Plato book if you want to be in the middle of everything!
