An 11-minute walk from the waterfront corniche, this upscale, high-rise hotel is 2 km from Abu Dhabi beach and 5 km from Abu Dhabi Mall.
Very friendly and helpful staff and the hotel is situated in the city center close to everything.Comment of O. Julia , United Arab Emirates the 2016-05-17
"Definitley NOT a 5 star hotel"
I am aware that most of my complaints are trivial and they would not bother me if it was a 3 star hotel but it is supposed to be a 5 star luxury hotel. I have stayed in 3 star hotels with better service and facilities. Stayed for 2 nights here and service from the beginning was not great. Check in process was extremely slow -it took around 10 minutes, in which the receptionist answered the phone twice. Got to the room, went to use the toilet and the handle fell off the door! Pool facilities were ok. The pool was quite nice but the general layout of the area was very messy - sun loungers crammed in at all angles along with random dining tables popped in between them here and there. As well as that, there were spelling mistakes in the menu (something that became a common occurrence throughout the hotel) and life guards doubled up as bar tenders. There is no shop of any sorts in the hotel or vicinity of, I had to walk for around 5 mins across 2 busy roads to find a supermarket. Apparently there is a management issue so their gift shop is temporarily closed' While walking to the shop, I spotted my car which I had valet parked around 200m down the road in public street parking. Upon asking the valet manager if there was a possibility of moving the car anywhere off street, the response we received was less than friendly. After a bit if an eye roll and a huge frown, he reluctantly agreed to move the car to underground parking. When I requested for someone to speak to regarding the issues I had encountered so far, I was directed to a reception supervisor, who informed me that there was no duty manager but he would register my complaints. I believe he was true to his word as the next day I received a fruit basket to my room. There was no note or card so I assume it was due to the issues I raised the day before. As I had half board - dinner was included. The all day dining restaurant is located in the main lobby. The food was very tasty and the food quality through out the visit was the only redeeming feature of this hotel, but it felt strange to sit and eat dinner in the middle of a hotel lobby. Breakfast was fantastic - it is located on the 2nd level, there was a great variety and the breakfast team were very accommodating and attentive, however when I left the hotel to go to a meeting the valets did not offer me a taxi, so I had to go stand in the baking sun to try to flag one myself. The champagne bar was lovely and had a nice atmosphere with a lady singing. After we had checked out we realized that we had left some items in the safety box in the room. I phoned the next morning and was told I would be phoned back after 20 mins. 8 hours passed so I phoned again and there was no record of my earlier call. I was told again I would be phoned back. When they did call, it was to tell me that they had no record of my items and room was now occupied so they could not check the safety box. I asked what happens next and was told ' I don't know. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they will call back. This process repeated 3 times - ''hi Maam we did not find your items and room is occupied'' - ''thank you, are you the manager''' - ''no maam,'' - ''can a manager call me''' - ''ok we will call you back''. 3 Times, 3 separate calls, 3 different people!! Eventually a manager did call me and told me they had my items after all! Hotel team need a lot of training. Like I said, most of the issues are trivial, but all these small details together are the things that are the very details that are judged in order to award 5 stars. Any one of these missing has the possibility of losing a star off of a 5 star rating, so to have so many is disappointing. The management needs to pay more attention to the little things! It is unfortunate.
I stayed there just only one night to spend time with my boyfriend. Everything went well until in the night time we came back from outside. We were entering to the hotel and stopped by the security. He asked my boyfriend directly to do the visitor card for me. I felt so bad. It's just so rude!
"DO NOT trust their website as a description of this hotel."
We booked to stay in a Club Room -room only as the room description on the website stated that buffet breakfast was available in the lounge each day. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted to pay for breakfast in the restaurant but we declined as we only wanted the breakfast in the lounge. This is when they advised that they have never offered breakfast in the lounge. They tried to blame our travel agent but when I got to our room and logged onto THEIR website my beliefs were confirmed. So a return to reception with iPad and a discussion with their duty manager before the decided to give us free of charge breakfast in the restaurant. This was more than what we were looking for but we obviously accepted it. Just a well as we never saw teir foyer coffe shop open in the morning despite being advertised as open 24 hours. We wanted to use their shuttle bus to the Mosque (as advertised on their website) but when were asked we were told tha they didnt run a shuttle to the Mosque. Our room was also to include daily newspaper but we never got that either. We took photos of the "all day snacks and refreshments" as there were empty plates for the snacks and the refreshments were coffee, tea,or Juice. To be fair, he immediately dispatch someone to the lounge and most days after that we had no more that six bottles of coke or sprite. I must say that the evening drinks and snacks were excellent thanks only to the lovely hostess Rebecca. The Front of House Manager told me that there was obviously an error with their website and they would get in touch with Singapore to get it changed that day but nothing has been changed and a trawl of Tripadvisor reviews shows customers raising the same issues as far back as November 2015 so they should be well aware of the rules. Would I return to this hotel again'..Probable not. there are probably others which are better organised. However, the staff were wonderful and went out of thier way to provide good service.
"Perfect hotel in Abu Dhabi."
I was in this hotel from october 1st to 9th and enjoyed being there for many reasons. First, the hotel staff were curious. The hotel cost was rational snd suitable with regard to its facilities. Finally, This hotel is a right fit for international visitors snd travellers who dream of having a great trip in Abu Dhabi.
Good value hotel if you don't expect too much luxury. comfortable but a little outdated. good breakfast. location good with valet parking. rooms on beach side are a little noisy due to the continuous hum of the adjacent offices buildings air conditioning plant
