Millenium Hotel Glasgow is located on George Square, in the commercial and cultural centre of the city, 20 minutes by car from Glasgow Airport.
Stayed here for 1 night as we were at the Hydro for a show. Booked an Executive Room and it did not disappoint. Beautifully decorated with all the amenities you could need. All the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. We will definitely be back 👍🏻
"Tour group stay"
First the pros: great location close to transportation, shopping, restaurants , etc. staff was helpful but often very busy. Breakfast was good but not terrific. Public spaces were nice enough at least for my purposes. Cons: although wifi was supposedly offered in rooms it never worked above the first floor so I had to go to lobby to get it. On arrival only one small elevator was working. On departure, neither one was. I had to drag my suitcase down 4 flights. The hallways needed airing out. They smelled a bit unpleasant. Although my room was quite nice, my friend got one that was like a closet. To be fair, after she complained they gave her a very nice room the second day. Several people in our group reported, including myself, reported things not working properly. My toilet didn't flush well and my phone didn't ring despite people calling me. Because of the location I do recommend this hotel but be sure to specify what you want and need for a comfortable stay. Do be aware that you must go up about 4-5 steps from the street to enter the hotel. If there was a better entrance, I didn't find it.
Located on George Street, this hotel is in the ideal location to roam around the center city area. Large hotel that takes up the entire block though you don't get that large hotel feel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room (237) was a standard room with no view (well a view of the underground station next door). Has a room safe. Breakfast was standard buffet fare. Nothing special, but edible. Bottom line: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
"Comfortable, but old and worn"
We only stayed here for one night, however I was underwhelmed by the room we had. It was very tired and old, the curtains were covered in dust, the walls could have done with a new coat of paint and the furniture was dated. It was fine for us as we arrived quite late and left early the next morning, however I would not recommend staying here for any extended period of time.
"Excellent location, signs of aging, good breakfast"
The biggest asset for this hotel is its location - easy to explore the centre of the city on foot from there - both shopping area and evening places. within walking distance to transportation links too. The hotel itself was maybe ones a luxury, but nowadays one can see that some maintenance is needed. A number of blemishes around the rooms, starting with the entrance door and ending with the radiators in the bathroom. All was functional, but displaying clear signs of aging and requiring maintenance if this is to really be a 4-star hotel. A tip: If you feel an air drift, check whether it comes from the window - I pulled the heavy curtain over and it solved it as I was there on a rather windy day. That being said - the bed was super comfortable and I slept really well. There is an iron and a board in the room and space is sufficient. Ceilings are high - air stays fresh. One could hear someone walking in the room above, but this is structural for the building, I guess it will not change - it was not too bad. Breakfast was very good and service was friendly and helpful.
