A great hotel made even better by the very attentive staff. Not just comfortable but special mention for the great breakfasts and the magnificent rooftop bar/pool. Nothing was too much trouble from the provision of adapter plugs to advice about the subway.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 weeks on a business trip over the Olympics. The hotel was great, the staff were really nice and helpful and the room was cleaned every day. The food at the hotel was always hot and there was a great selection with a rotation of different food every morning. We didn't get a chance to use the swimming pool or gym but they both looked great! Would definitely stay again if I returned to Rio!
"Clean hotel but get higher floors"
Nice hotel which was a clean US style hotel with reasonable amenities and had a safe in the room. It's 3 blocks walk from the Copacabana beach with plenty of little supermarkets and shops around. Breakfast was elaborate with plenty of fresh fruits and local fare. Front staff was somewhat helpful but not the most helpful. The view is excellent from the rooftop but expensive Caiprinha's and pool is very small and not heated. Easy to get cabs (although traffic is congested usually in Copacabana and better to walk). We did not go out late at night outside the hotel as we were told it was not very safe at night, but in the day it seemed just fine. Wifi was included but very slow. One issue is that the hotel is adjacent to another building with many residents looking out of their apartments so there is no privacy and we had to keep our curtain drawn even in the day. I assume if you are on a very high floor (>10) this may not be a problem.
Nice stay in Mirador Hotel. Very closed to Copacabana beach. Friendly staff and allways willing to help. A special thank´s to breakfast restaurant host and morning receptionist (sorry but no name bach so is difficult to identify them). Wi-fi in the room (10th floor) not working properly and no glúten free bread on breakfast was the only minus in my stay.
Huge breakfast with fresh fruit. Cozy beds except when you sleep on the crack between the two beds (if you get a queen bed it is just two twins pushed together). I felt very safe. Staff was very helpful and spoke English. Tom who was in charge of the pool area was super nice and made excellent Caipirinhas. Had 24 hour sandwiches for room service. Cheap for the area. Only 3 blocks to the beach. My only real complaint was that there were ants in our room.
