"Perfect Stay in Paradise!"
We stayed at Mom Tri's over the Christmas and New Year period and it has more than lived up to our expectations in every way. After a lot of research, we booked the Bourgogne Suite in the Ocean Wing and I don't think we could have bettered our room or our amazing experience in staying there. The Ocean Wing is enough apart from the main hotel that you feel secluded (and a bit special), but you can choose when to mix with the main hotel activity although you have pretty much everything you need where you are. The Bourgogne Suite is worth the extra room rate and is so spacious with an an enormous bed, two bathrooms, elegant lounge and a fabulous private terrace that makes you feel you are staying in a private home. Indeed we were lucky enough to meet Mom Tri himself when we were there and he said it had been his suite until they turned that wing into hotel guest space. Lots of outdoor space and sun loungers dotted about by the small but adequate infinity pool. You are only sharing it with 5 other rooms in this Wing so there's always choice about where you want to relax plus some very lovely sun decks down by the water's edge if you really want to escape. The views are stunning wherever you look and the whole complex is nestled in gorgeous tropical gardens. There is a dedicated team looking after you in the Ocean Wing and we cannot praise particularly Sae and Ton enough for their boundless good humour, endless smiles and thoughtfulness. On several occasions they went above and beyond to personalise things for us and make our stay extra special. Housekeeping is also very efficient and this is the first place we've stayed where our room is fully cleaned and ready when we get back from breakfast! Probably helped that we are early risers and the staff learn your routine very quickly. Lovely touches such as cake and newspaper in the afternoon and the handmade dream fish and fresh orchids on the bed at turndown every night. We ate at the hotel pretty much all the time. We hadn't really intended to but the food is excellent and you can choose to have your meals in the main restaurant or have it bought over to the more informal setting if the Ocean Wing. Either way, the quality and service is consistently high. Yes the prices are high by comparison to other eateries in the area but it's your choice as the where you want to eat and how much you want to spend. Let's face it, it's not a budget hotel option! We were so relaxed at the hotel, we didn't really want to leave most days and we ate well whether we had light meals or something more a la carte. Breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of fresh fruit, homemade breads, yoghurts, preserves and the usual hot and cold selections. Eggs cooked to order however you like them. The beautiful Kata Noi beach is a few (steep!) steps away through the main hotel and we found it clean and well maintained. It helps perhaps that it is not a public beach so the users are staying at one of the three hotels which share access. Compared to neighbouring Kata Beach, it was very peaceful. Lovely for early morning walks and a safe swim in the sea before breakfast. The only thing is because it's on a hillside, everywhere you go on the site requires walking up or down steps so not for the faint hearted especially after a good dinner negotiating your way back to your room in the Ocean Wing! However it provides much needed exercise at times and is worth it in order to appreciate the beautiful grounds. Interestingly, nearly all the other guests we met were repeat customers of the hotel and that says a lot about the place. Having stayed there, we can understand why. In summary, Mom Tri's Villa Royale is a unique boutique hotel which deserves its stand out reputation for the quality of both the stay and the food. Our 11 nights there were as close to perfection as we could have dared to expect and we were genuinely saddened to leave. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our Christmas in the sun so special and memorable. We look forward to seeing you again.
"Ultra-Romantic Boutique Resort"
Not only does this resort have my all time favorite restaurant in all of Thailand it is one of the most romantic small resorts on the island. Mom is the Thai word for Prince and Tri is a cousin of the late King, Rama Nine who we are all mourning. The restaurant also has an intensive weekend cooking class that is also my favorite Thai style cooking school in the Kingdom. The service is everything you would expect in a World Class romantic resort. It is small but that is a good thing in this case. All staff speak English and you have easy access to all of Phuket's delights.
Mom Tri villa royalle was fantastic. A boutique hotel perched on a cliff just above Katathani . It was great to have the peace of Mom Tri and yet enjoy swimming in the waves and beach below. The staff were incredible breakfast sumptuous and the bar man at the sundowners bar a very funny fellow. lots of restaurants close walking distance in kata and place to shop.
We had high expectations on arrival, having read so many excellent reports on Mom Tri's. Those original expectations were dashed as we were offered so much more. A gorgeous boutique hotel, quietly clinging to a cliff side and overlooking Kata Bay. Every detail was attended to. We enjoyed a magnificent room where fresh flowers and chef's complimentary desserts were surreptitiously placed each evening as we arrived back from dinner. The only sounds to be heard were the birds and the ocean below. Every member of staff went to extreme lengths to make our stay memorable. Sao at the front desk went beyond the call of duty to research, book and make our requests happen. Eun at the bar was fantastic as we took advantage of Happy Hour each evening. He knew exactly what we wanted and would get it prepared before we even asked. We had lovely little conversations with him and we consider Mom Tri's lucky to have such a fantastic member of staff. Although Mom Tri's is set in a quiet and private area, shops and restaurants are a short walk away. When we wanted to venture further out, there was a shuttle at our disposal. Beautiful swimming pools, decor, excellent wi fi a library, gigantic beds and excellent food from breakfast to dinner made for an amazing stay at this unique and splendid hotel.
"Great property, great breakfast, great beach"
Beach wing suite was incredible. Loved the wood and stone work in the rooms, exactly as advertised. Having access down to the beach in a 3 minute walk was very convenient as the Thai sun can get really really freaking hot and breaks of A/C are welcomed. The breakfast was great and had a ton of variety in it. Fresh juiced squeezed. Coffee service to your table, but otherwise a help yourself fashion. The service of this place is incredible. Mom Tri (the owner, royal, architect, all in all renaissance man) was actually at the cocktail hour several days. The sunset cocktail hour is a fun way to have a drink or three before dinner either at their great restaurant or off into town. I missed my opportunity to check out their spa as it was booked when I finally got around to it, so request this early!! I walked up there and it looked great, just wish I could have gotten around to scheduling my treatments earlier.
