Stayed here two nights, was in town for work. Good place, clean, modern, good attention. Super cheap rates! Tiny rooms but comfortable beds and bathroom, room has a desk and a small fridge and that's about it so if you are looking for cheap and don't mind the small rooms this is definitely a good choice. Be careful of walking the surroundings after 10PM as this is a business area that dies after 8PM and only unsavory people and homeless roaming around. You have a pharmacy half a block from the place opens till late as well as a convenience store that sells beverages and great empanadas!
"Decent, but noisy and dated."
Overall the place is not bad. Good location in the downtown area and close to many amenities and attractions, helpful and friendly staff, delicious breakfasts, BUT is in desperate need for some updating and deep cleaning. Carpets and fabric headboards were heavily stained and in places greasy and sticky, air conditioning units need updating, they are very noisy and the roar produced by many of them overnight makes it hard to sleep. A simple things like renewing the corroded shower heads are easy wins.
"Fits the bill"
Helpful front desk, they have ordered a taxi to the airport. Room as advertised. Nice antique elevator system. Good location in the centre of Buenos Aires. Good shopping & restaurants nearby. Breakfast was pretty basic.
""Stands out from the crowd because they could not have been more helpful""
Lets face it all hotels do a job irrespective of price, location or amenities. To be frank I don't usually rave very often because we have travelled extensively for in excess of 40 years (not continually) & it take a small miracle to impress me. Just occasionally if you are lucky enough you find one that deserves a special mention. The hotel itself ticks all the usual boxes you would prefer to be ticked. Were they scored 100% customer satisfaction in our personal experience was irrespective of what ever your question / query, the two main male reception staff went to great lengths to satisfy you & all achieved with a smile & in English which not all Brazilian's have. Cannot say fairer than that, for my money if we were ever to return to BA we would have no hesitation in re-booking this particular hotel. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF. "very good for the price"
I think that monaca hotel is a very good hotel for the price I paid. The room was clean, private bathroom. Nothing fancy. the employees we're helpful. The breakfast was no more than ok. The location is perfect. Very close to Buquebus if you need to take the boat.
