On the day of my wedding this employee was very rude to my new bride and myself just because we asked to get a golf cart ride in the lobby area of the sunrise Section. Most of all the other employees at the resort were amazing! The resort was very clean and the beaches were nice as well. We found the food ok & sometimes good. But more then 60% of our group got very sick from food or the drinks not sure. We had 50 people there. Rooms- we paid an extra $1500 for ocean view nice room to find out it was the exact same as the other people's rooms in our party that did not pay that amount. But they were nice rooms. We never got part of the wedding package that they said one part was the breakfast in bed the next morning it never came! Not good when we waited to get that and we had more pictures to get so we went on an empty stomach and hung over. The over charging our PO for the wedding and the huge extra charges for anything couple of examples- dance floor needed to have $1000 us min, projector $1200 us for just a small video, lace drapes to hang along the walls was $10,000.00 us, local photographer only 1 option $6500.00 us, lemon pie for me because don't like cake and my wife wanted to get me it $100 us, And so much more. Be carefully Also try to book the gazebo with the glass it looks at the ocean and has air conditioning. For your who event. Then u don't have to worry about the $25 person change of venue if it rains. The wedding was still amazing we had a great time. Also the little store in the resort is very expensive I got 8 red bulls and a big bag of chips $60.00 us Someone gave me advice to be firm about what you want. And get everything in writing!!!!!!!
"I used to hate Mexico"
And the Moon Palace Cancun has changed all that. What an amazing place. We had the family connection suite and it was perfect. Cleaned everyday quite well, comfortable beds, full fridge and the kids received free gifts and candy. We stayed at the Nizcu part of the resort but wandered everywhere. It's all good. The only let down was the Momo restaurant, but every other place made up for it. The wave rider made the kids happier than anything (I even tried it out). The guys working at the sailing and kayaking area were awesome too. My brother had his wedding there and it was perfectly done. My favorite part of the trip was a simple gesture. In the Nizcu lobby bar I made a comment the first day that I would like a captain and ginger. They had no ginger ale...but the next night they made sure they had some and remembered me in the lobby. Now that's service. We will be back.
"First Class Vacation"
We have stayed at this resort several times and as always, had a fantastic time. Between the spa, golf, jet skiing, the restaurants and service- we had a wonderful family vacation. You can't find a better resort for the $. We stayed at the Grand this time and we had superb service from bellboys: Orlando, Reyes & Robin. Our pool waitress Marisol was fantastic as was Pedro in the restaurant.
"Another great stay"
My husband and I traveled with another couple. We stayed in a presidential suite at the Grand. I usually prefer the sunrise because I like ocean view, however the Sunrise was closed due to a UN convention. It started a little rocky as we were initially put in building 86. This building is farther from the beach and pools and had a great view of all of the construction. Needless to say, this was not okay. As a palace premier and palace elite presidential member, this is not what I signed up for. I spoke with Martin at first service who moved us to building 87 the next day... MUCH BETTER. Reyes helped us with our bags and was extremely helpful. I wish I could say the same for the other bellmen. The best part about the Grand was Aldo, a member of the entertainment staff. He came around to ask us to participate everyday and always had a smile on his face. Carlos, Kyle, and Marcelo were also very outgoing and energetic. Elena was our server each day and did an excellent job. Esmeralda gave the absolute best deep tissue massage!! I really enjoyed that as well. Laura was extremely helpful to my husband at the golf course. Luis at the golf course also to good care of my husband and always remembers him from year to year! We love the palace and will be back again soon!!!!
"Moon Palace - great facilities but not a luxury resort"
We stayed at the Moon Palace with 2 children this summer and we had a great holiday. However I don't think we would go back because of the following reasons- Fighting for sunbeds every day no matter what time of day is not our idea of a relaxing break. There is meant to be a policy whereby if the beds are left unattended for more than 30 minutes the towels are removed but this does not happen. The whole resort is very busy and especially at weekends but we were there at the height of the summer holidays, this meant that the restaurants were also very busy and we regularly had to queue for breakfast and dinner. The room was a standard room with 2 double beds squashed in and although it would have been very comfortable for a couple for a family of four it was just too small. The family room option was substantially more expensive and so we were left with only this option. I must admit that I am slightly amused as to why half the room is taken up with a jacuzzi bath which apparently nobody ever uses as it is not what you want to do in 30 degree heat! The other issue for us was that the communal areas were frequently messy in the morning with broken glasses, rubbish and food trays in the corridors, but the actual reception areas were always spotless. I want to also reflect on some of the extremely positive aspects of this hotel, the staff were amazing and we were exceptionally well looked after by all the bar staff and the waiters in the restaurants. The boys looked forward to sitting at breakfast in Alejandro Cahun's section in the Gondola restaurant as he was very kind and brought Mimosas for my breakfast and made us a lovely cake before we left - thank you so much Alejandro! The kids club and games room were fantastic for the boys and the evening shows were really well done. We used the bikes nearly every day and visited the golf club pool and restaurant as it tended to be much quieter. My husband enjoyed playing golf but it is worth mentioning that the courses are 3 x 9 hole courses and you needed to pay for 18 holes plus buggy hire. I have to also congratulate the management on the fact that the wi-fi was amazing ! No matter where we went we could stay in touch over wi-fi - even on the beach. If you like traditional mexican food the Los Tacos and the Caribbean at the Grand section were fantastic but we also loved the Mexican in the Nizuc. I hope this helps fellow travellers!
