If you want your vacation to be memorable for a long time, this is a place to go. Three resorts in one. My personal preference is Nizuc with Sea Front room. Though all three are equally good. Variety of restaurants and cuisines.
"Best hotel experience I ever had...!"
Last month I spent a week at Moon Palace Resort 'Sunrise' at Cancun, Mexico. It was the best hotel experience of my life. Wow...! I was thoroughly impressed on many counts. Although the Moon Palace Resort is huge, comprising Sunrise, Nizuc and the Grand, I found it well-organised and efficiently managed. I got the distinct feeling that the establishment was not so much a resort as it was a sort of Fun Festival City. We just had to pay the entrance fee (in this case, the all-inclusive charge) and, inside, everything was free: breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, room service, magic shows, poolside cafes and kiosks, you name it. That was so convenient. And the cuisine fare in their 13 restaurants was sumptuous and wonderfully varied. Equally impressive were their huge and variety of swimming pools. A totally relaxing experience. For me the most praiseworthy part, however, was their staff. I found them polite, helpful, cheerful and prompt, even those who spoke only Spanish. They were so good, in fact, that I felt they could teach others a lesson in customer service. As a matter of fact, I was so impressed that I enthusiastically recommend Moon Palace Resort to everyone planning their holidays at Cancun, Mexico. Vijay Dandige
"mr jose gonzalez take a bow"
Visited moon place with friends for 2 weeks from 27th of december.hotel is very very clean and well presented.pools are excellent and staff are superb.food is probably the biggest let down of this hotel .overall i would give this hotel 4 stars for food.but for the size of the hotel some of the restaurant's are excellent especially the italian.the poorest restaurants are the chinese in the sunrise and the american grill in sunrise.the biggest problem they have with there food is because of size of hotel starters are always pre served so 9/10 times by time you get them at your table there stone cold..my worse meal experience was in caribbean restaurant in grand where yet again i got a stone cold starter of scallops which was disgusting on complaining they gave me new scallops which looked nothing like the ones they tried to palm me off with the first time. drama over onto my mains chicken in peach with a big greasy black hair in.....nice To be fair management dealt with this quite well but this shouldnt be happening in first place on a self proclaimed 5 star hotel... This hotel shouldnt be 5 star as they cant give 5 star service due to the size of the hotel.i fear for food quality when they open there next thousand rooms shortly...one last moan the lager they supply is disgusting so if you like a pint you are goin to struggle in this hotel unless you are friends with jose !!! Thats enough of all bad points now as food and lager is there only let down.this should not reflect on everyome at the hotel... The hotels paid entertainment we went too was brilliant (optional events . duran duran concert and a cirque show) The mexicans are lovely friendly hard working people and deserve to be treated and spoke to with the respect they give you unfortunately some people from countrys across the pond dont have the respect and manners to return the hospitality given, which is shame on them.several times we heard staff spoke to like they was there servants was lucky to be serving them.get a grip. This was my third trip to moon palace and each visit has got better so they are doing things right...Now to a special note to the hotel.you have a very special member of staff who takes customer service of your hotel to a different level i hope you realise what you have in this member of staff and he works his way up to the top management in your chain.his name is jose gonzalez and nothing was ever to much trouble for him.he absolutely made our holiday from 6 months before we came to the day we left.thank you ever so much jose for everything you done for us.it wont be forgotten.. so overall good hotel clean hotel excellent staff excellent facilities excellent pools excellent golf very mixed food consistency if your thinking of booking this hotel i would definitely recommend but just dont expect to have a fantastic meal every night of your holiday
"Great Post-Thanksgiving Trip"
My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time at Moon Place. We decided to take advantage of a lull between the holidays to enjoy a week of relaxation in the Cancun sun. We stayed on the quiet Grand side of the resort, which will shortly become the Grand at Moon Palace once all of the construction is finished. Negatives first: check-in at Grand's temporary lobby was a little crowded and chaotic and our first room's proximity to the construction site was not ideal. Fortunately, staff was able to intervene (thank you Clemente) and we were able to move to a quieter room. Also, the lobby on the Sunrise side of the resort was closed to guests for part of our stay due to a very large international climate change conference taking place at the resort. Not a huge inconvenience, but it did take several of the resort's restaurants off our menu (On the plus side, it "forced" us to have a great dinner at LaTrattoria at the golf course - food and service was excellent and Marciel took great care of us.) On the Positive Side: This is a great resort. It's the second time we've vacationed at Moon Palace and are looking forward to our next trip. The food selection was expansive and tasted great. My husband and I have really different tastes in food (he loves steak and seafood, but I am more partial to poultry), but we never had trouble finding things on the menu that suited our appetites. Also, we've found that this time of year is an ideal time to visit if you're looking to avoid large crowds - we never had a problem getting recliners close to the pools or having to wait for service. Also, the resort offers an onsite Catholic mass on Sundays. We really enjoyed the high level of service we received from the staff. It is clear that the resort puts a great deal of time and attention into training its staff –Liza Beth, who was newly hired at Manglar in the Nizuc lobby did a great job for us on one of her first nights. The pool staff on the Grand side was also great - Aldo, Enrique, Carlos, Marcel, Kyle, Elena and Josaphat all went out of their to make us feel at home - up to Aldo including "Go Cubs Go" on their playlist (at my husband's request) and “The Bears Still Suck” (at my request) – Go PACK! Having done off-site sightseeing on previous trips to Cancun, we decided to use our resort credits to upgrade our on-site experience. We used our resort credits on golf lessons with Edgar who somehow managed to fix my husband's horrible swing. We did the wine tastings with excellent sommeliers Jorge and Roberto, had exceptional spa service with Paulina, Wendy, and Enrique, and enjoyed an intimate Romantic Dinner on the beach hosted by Javier, Bruno, Nestor and Elisabeth. Had the Grand been completed and a third of the resort not shut down we would have rated this 5 stars.
