"Leisure rather than business hotel"
The good - great location near Grand Central Station in quietish Murray Hill. Reception and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. The bad - dim lighting in elevators and rooms needs updating. Air conditioning not great either. The should do better - hot water to make drinks unavailable between late evening and breakfast. Breakfast was mediocre buffet of cereals, indifferent pastries and over sweetened fat-free yoghurts. Breakfast service started late, which is fine for leisure not for business. The bundled price for breakfast and wifi was high and charged separately.
A lovely hotel in The center of Manhattan with walking distance to so many places. Nice and tids rooms. A small but fair breakfast is included in The price. A little bit too expensive in relation to what you get.
"Comfortable hotel in East Midtown Manhattan"
We stayed in a double on the 11th floor of this midrange hotel in East Midtown. From the outside the hotel is not very conspicuous. In fact, there are no signs advertising the hotel, just the house number. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable. Bathroom is adequate with a good shower, wash basin, toilet. The lighting in the corridors and particularly the elevators is extremely subdued. So much so that you can read the numbers on the elevator's keypad only with great difficulty. A problem that is not helped by the fact that the keypads in both elevators have different layouts. There is a large bar cum lounge. During the day you can help yourself to coffee and tea and newspapers are available. At night a bar service is run until 11pm. A bit early for a hotel bar to close we find. In the morning a continental breakfast is served in the bar area. Fresh bread, marmelade, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit and (processed) fruit juices. No cooked options or meats. The hotel is very clean. But the room is cleaned quite late in the day, around 2.30 or later, which is not convenient when you want to take a midday break in your room. There is a mini bar in the room with soft drinks, but the prices are a bit outlandish, so we did not use it. Free Wifi is available in the room and the lobby and lounge and has adequate speed and bandwith The hotel is quite expensive for what it offers. We paid $370 per night, which is three times as much what we would normally pay for a hotel room like this. But this is central Manhattan, I suppose.
This hotel was lovely; staff were friendly, great location and the room was lovely. I have been to NYC 3 times and sometimes rooms can be very small for the price, this was not the case here. The room was adequately sized, clean and had all the facilities you wanted- iron, hairdryer, robe, etc. They also had an umbrella, which was a Godsend! Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was OK, like any continental. My only criticism would be that on the first morning we were missing breakfast due to a planned trip. This meant we were also unable to grab a coffee. Other hotels I have stayed at would have given us one to take out. We asked if we could get one but we were directed to the nearest coffee shop. Other than that, the stay was great. I would definitely recommend.
"Lovely hotel great location "
We have just come back from spending a week at Morgan's for thanksgiving & my birthday, it's a lovely friendly hotel and if your lucky enough to be at the front of the hotel you'll have a great view of the Empire State. Rooms are nice, a few people have mentioned about the lighting it didn't particularly bother us but can see how it would for some. We were out and about early most mornings so had a quick breakfast at the hotel which was always nice & fresh plenty of choice for a continental. Best location as it's near enough to most NYC attractions but away from the hustle & bustle. Friendly & smiley staff. Would definitely recommend 😀
