We simply love staying at this hotel. The service was good, staff were friendly, food was good. The location is very strategic, near to mosque al nabawi and to malls. Personally, i found a room having a bathroom and also a separated mini kitchen really helpful, especially for long stays. The lift waiting time was suprisingly very short.
We were 3 persons sharing a triple room. We stayed 3 nights here in the first week of January 2017. Service rating 1 out of 5 On check in at 8pm we were made to wait over one hour for our room, after a long journey with our elderly mother. No apology. Only arrogance. Rahidul, the bell boy who helped take our luggage to the room was very nice. Apart from this, the service we received at reception and in general was extremely poor. Absolutely a disgrace to call themselves 5 star! As an example, as we were 3 persons staying in a room, and there were only two complimentary sandals in the room, I went to reception to request another pair of sandals be sent to my room. Instead of arranging it like any respectable hotel would do, this was flatly refused, and instead I was asked to call housekeeping instead to arrange it. So I went back to my room to call housekeeping- guess what' no one picks up. surprise surprise. I guess that's why he didn't want to arrange it from reception. Room 1 out of 5 The First room, which was arranged by the manager of the hotel after I had complained about having to wait for over an hour to get my room was one of the worst I have ever stayed in. The shower door was the wrong size for the shower! There was a 2 inch gap at least so the water went everywhere. The room stank of blocked drainage. I'll never forget that smell! When we entered the AC had been left on the highest fan power- I suspect to try and hide the stench. The room was dirty. There was hair in the bed and sweets on the floor. We complained and the next day were transferred to a room in the opposite tower (Haram B, I think)- same room type but this time cleaner fresh comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was a world apart from the first. Even the plug points were different!! I have no clue why we were put in a substandard room to begin with. This is unacceptable and the manager should be aware that those rooms should be fixed and not offered as part of a 5 star hotel. Room did have a fridge and tea making facilities, and sufficient wardrobes/drawers etc. But the rooms were in need of renovation, especially the room in the first block we were in. The room size was compact. Breakfast/Restaurants 3 out of 5 A decent variety of dishes but lacked any real quality. They did have an "egg station". We ate at one of the hotel's restaurants- the meals were ok but expensive. Overall rating - 1 out of 5. This hotel is no way near a 5 star hotel. It is poorly run. The quality of the room we first got at the top of Medinah Tower was not fit for anyone to live in. The service is one of the worst we've experienced from anywhere in the world. We're really disappointed especially given how much we paid for this room. We would certainly not stay here again, and this has put me off all Movenpick hotels all together. We would recommend you pick another hotel, even if you have to pay a bit more or walk a bit further to the mosque.
"Nice hotel, good mall and restaurants. "
We stayed in Anwar Al Madinah Mövenpick in 2004, 2014, and visited again this month. With the amount of people traffic through this hotel, conveniently located at the corner gate to Masjid Al Nabawi, the level of upkeep has been good. Friendly staff in the hotel, good selection of breakfast (caters also for western tastes), and situated above an excellent mall that also has a food area located at the back. Overall, a great choice. Would visit again.
"Good but not great"
First of all the structure of hotels there are very old and not vet well maintained so that is the best you can get next to HARRAM I gave 3 stars , out of which 2 stars for the excellent great location just on the haram absolutely amazing , the third star for the breakfast buffet very nice one and try to get it with the room as if you buy alone it's around 160R per person Now where they lost stars is from the condition of the room very old structure, horrible AC that works and closes by its own mind getting us sick, very bad pillows puffed and hard This hotel would be amazing if they pay attention to small details , but still a great experience to be at the harram
