Well I've definitely been in better hotels in my life. The room was going for funky creativity but looked more like my University room in the 90s. The staff were friendly enough but a bit useless - I asked to book a massage and had to call back twice to find out what was happening (answer = nothing!). I came back to my room on the second day and the bed had been made, but there was still a dirty glass by the bed and rubbish on the floor! The pillows were really soft and I asked for firm pillow and nothing was available. I'm sure there are better hotels in the area.
We picked this hotel purely for its location as I love this part of Brighton. However having experienced the hotel I would pass next time. Rooms are like a scene from big brother and very tight to move around bed top and bottom due to them being central. No draws for small clothing. No robes and slippers as we were promised due to a small charge for upgrade 😳no bath tubs just shower cubicle. Reception is small and pokey next to busy bar. Breakfast is a waste of time egg bread. A couple of pastries and one plate of cheese and one plate of ham! All self service and done on the bar to the main hotel. Save your money and go to Bills two roads along for breakfast. Hotel is well overpriced at £200.00 a room should be more realistic to the sum of £130.00 maximum. I would give this sub standard service and hotel a solid 5/10.
"Perfect location, strange rooms. "
The location is great. In the heart of Brighton, the lanes and it's little beautiful unique shops, the pier and the pavilion. The room takes a little getting used to. On one hand very unusual color schemes like pink and purple rooms or orange and gray. On the other hand very minimal all white cold room. A combination of bright and busy and bare and cold. Not crazy about it but would stay again as I love the Brighton center vibe!!
I stayed here recently on business. Firstly, the location. Right in the middle of Brighton close to all the amenities, shops, bars, cafes and restaurants with the seafront a ten minute walk away. The hotel itself has very friendly and helpful staff. It also benefits from an express checkout facility, which was most helpful. As for the rooms, pink is the word. From the door to the room through to the pink shower, pink wardrobe, pink carpet and pink bedding. Al, very clean though and with what I can honestly say are the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on. The facilities in the room are great. The usual tea & coffee facilities with ironing board and iron all stashed away in a three module wardrobe where the middle part is the mini bar. As well as a fine selection of (pricey) drinks, there are toiletries, a hangover kit and (ahem) an intimacy kit. Breakfast is the only reason it didn't get five stars. There is no full English option and it's definitely more continental with a selection of cheese, cold meats, cereals, yoghurts and the option to poach or boil your own eggs. The issue here was with the toaster. A two slice Delonghi domestic toaster trying to cater for 20 guests all wanting toast. Not great. On the whole a great little hotel where I'd have no issues staying again.
Had a great time, clean, comfortable and funky decor. Interesting mini-bar! Brilliant location right in the heart of the action, short walk to the sea front, restaurants and shops all around. Shared with a female friend and the clear glass door to the bathroom was a bit embarrassing so we had to strategically drape towels and promise to look the other way.
