The NH Amsterdam Museum Quarter hotel just outside Amsterdam’s center. The hotel is just a 5-minute stroll from the city’s main shopping street, PC Hooftstraat, a minute's walk from Ruysdaelstraat transit station, a 5-minute walk from the Van Gogh Museum and a 10-minute stroll to the Heineken Experience.
"great location for museums and shops!"
This hotel is a stone's throw from the Van Gogh and other museums and only a 10 minute walk to lots of shops and bars. I was a little apprehensive about staying here after reading the reviews but decided to give it a try as I had enjoyed my stay at the nHow Berlin so much last year. The room was of a really good size .. had amenities for tea/coffee and a reasonably priced minibar. Ordered a pizza from Room Service on the first night which was tasty and arrived quickly. The beds were comfy and heating worked perfectly! Front desk staff were extremely helpful in booking excursions for us. I definitely would stay here again.
"Construction site not a canal view until June 2017!!!"
Just to advise that a multilevel undercanal car park is being built right at front of hotel. Disappointed when could have stayed anywhere but this is where Flight Centre Australia selected. WRONG!! I ended up having to get taxis everywhere ..very expensive. Wasn't happy. Room service very limited menu and expensive. However- some of the staff went out of their way-on front desk Sharona organised high floor, courtyard room so couldn't see or hear noise . Odette at breakfast great as they had overcharged me for two breakfasts for my 6 day stay..and NO didnt get a refund. Christiana understood my fury at no canal view on a canal in Amsterdam. She offered a move (but better the devil you know ) and travel agent couldn't find anything else- so stayed put as this was last leg of 3 country holiday. Did offer me taxi fare...ended up being only 2 ....personally I would have liked room service compensation as restaurants a hike from here too. There is no restaurant in hotel so not great either. Bar area small- didn't bother. In hindsight the taxi 12-20 € ( Aus $ nearly double) everywhere I needed to go made it NH hotel a poor and expensive choice. The room was large but dated. Not an ideal choice for winter either. If you are out all day, like me, it was okay, but not for a family holiday and DEFINITELY NOT until after construction of car park complete !!!! Do not book until at least June/ July 2017 as that's what the letter in your room..that's after you arrive..states. Pretty sure lots of other places I would rather have been and will go next visit...lesson learned. Always check before you travel- especially from Australia! See attached view from restaurant for breakfast..and to negotiate...not good..is it people. Let's advertise this shall we,
"not to recommend"
Hi, we paid 120 euros per night, the breakfast was not included and when i see the standard of the hotel, it doesn't deserve 120 euros per night honestly, the breakfast should e included at this price. the cleaning of the room was not very good, they did the minimum
"Would not return "
My boyfriend suprised me to Amsterdam for my Christmas present. Lovely hotel however certain members of staff are rude. When we arrived we paid extra for a superior room and we got put in a standard double and then made us pay extra for a room that we already pre paid for! food is over priced too. You have to get out your room for 12 and our flight home wasn't until 8 and we didn't get a room to stay in until the flight and they expected us to pay 89 Euros plus tax for a room to stay in. We sat in the lobby until our taxi came and no members of the staff even acknowledged us. Very disappointed and will not be returning.
It was a wonderfull time during my vacation in Amsterdam. The hotel was located in the best area close by the museums, restaurants and clothingstores. The hotel was also great, Nice room and very Nice and polite staff members. But the Woman Sjarifa help us, She welcomed me and my Husband very warm and professional. She was helping also what we can do in the area Around the hotel. Othewise we didn't know. And she booked tickets for the museums close by the hotel for us. The breakfast was also Nice She gave me discount and the staff member from there was also Nice. She was helping me also with the facility in the Nh museum quarter and She gave me a good service during my stay in Nh Museum quarter and with our luggage. My english is not so good. But ask me to put my expierence in tripadvisor. Very Nice expierence and stay in Amsterdam for one night.
