"Central comfortable Hotel"
We were unsure of this hotel when we arrived as we do not usually like large hotels. However this one provided good service and we were extremely happy with the location. Although this hotel is on a busy road our room was quiet and comfortable. We walked most places as everything was so close - Check point Charlie, Museums, good shops. We did use the train to go to Potsdam. The breakfasts in the hotel were a feast and service was very good. We loved the little bar area (which we visited each night) especially the hand shaved 'Jambon". The restaurant was pleasant with good food when we were too tired to go out and find a restaurant. We certainly recommend this hotel
"4 great days spent"
We found everything about this hotel to be excellent except for a couple things mentioned later in this review. The hotel is well-located close to U-line subway, Checkpoint Charlie, Museum Island (30-minute walk or you can ride the U-line), many other nearby attractions including the Mall of Berlin. We walked to just about all of them before discovering the U-Line was easy to use and navigate. Our room was not large but enough for sleeping. Beds were really comfortable, there was no nighttime noise. Food in the restaurant was good, though I think the sparking water is a bit overpriced. (We discovered this is true at other eateries, as well.) Internet service in our part of the hotel was sometimes spotty. This wasn't due to problems with Wifi, it was due to the service itself (rooms have wired LAN, which I used, so I could tell where the issue was). This is really the only reason I didn't give the hotel a "5" - I expect a newer hotel to have adequate Internet service throughout. You can purchase an upgrade in Internet service, though I don't know the cost or quality.
We stayed in NH Mitte for 3 nights. The hotel is conveniently located on the corner of Leipzigerstrasse and Friedrichstrasse, right in the heart of Berlin! Friedrichstrasse is a renowned shopping street, full of cafes, restaurants, breakfast places, and souvernir shops. The hotel is 50m away from Checkpoint Charlie, Gendarmarkt is 5min walk away, as well as Potsdamer Platz. The rooms are modern and very spacious, beds are really wide and comfortable. Coffee and tea in the room are complimentary. Our room looked over the backyard, and it was super quiet - we didnt hear a sound from the outside or the corridors. There is a taxi stand right in front of the hotel. If you need any advice on restaurants, transport, bike or car rental, just contact Moritz at the concierge desk - he is super polite and friendly, and knows so much! We rented bikes through him, and it was a perfect way to explore the city! The receptionists are also very efficient and the rooms are cleaned two times a day. Next time we visit Berlin, we will definitely stay in this hotel again!
"Rude female receptionist "
We arrived at this hotel at 1750 on September 26 as part of a group bus tour of Eastern Europe. I will comment on the other hotels on our itinerary separately. This is supposed to be a 4 or 5 star hotel but I rate it as 3 star. The reception area is smart enough but nothing special. Our room was, at first glance, quite acceptable but was an overall disappointment. The toilet cistern overflowed continuously. I complained 3 times telephonically and twice at the Reception. The lady at Reception was rude and told me that I didn't have to report a problem more than once. I told her that the noise from the leaking cistern had kept me awake during our first night and she, very ungratiously , said that she would send someone to fix it. Two gentlemen came to the room, flushed the toilet 3 times and pronounced that it worked fine. I explained that flushing the toilet successfully did not indicate that it worked well as the leaking only occurred when the cistern was full as the inflow continued, meaning that the water continued to pour into the toilet. They seemed not to understand what I was saying and said that I should phone Reception if it happened again and a few minutes later, once the cistern had filled, it started to overflow again. I therefore phoned Reception again and again they said they would send someone to fix it. This never happened and we had another night of disturbed sleep. I was totally dissatisfied with this behaviour and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Another matter was that there was no Bible in the room. The meals in the dining room were enjoyable if not cordon bleu. I left a jersey in the room when we left. I sent an email as soon as I realised my carelessness but have thus far received no response from the hotel. Unfortunately our Coach trip terminates at the same hotel and I'll add another post if my opinion changes.
Fantastic location so close to everything. A lovely clean hotel with super comfy beds. Really enjoyed our stay here and would def return. Lovely restaurant in the hotel too, this place is highly recommended.
