"Wrong choice in every aspect"
A tired hotel with smelly corridors and even smellier rooms. It may be just bad luck and this review may be overly harsh but everything went wrong with our stay. The room I got in the 6th floor was a non-smoking room. All good intention from the hotel but the corridor still reeks of cigarette smell - perhaps from the time when this service was not offered. The room had a different, more toilet-like odour. The air-condition had a leek with water dropping on the floor. I reported that but nothing was done. Again, all intentions may have been good but the reception staff, some of them clearly interns, patronised my colleagues - all of us with over 30 years of experience in working in the hotel industry - about reservations and billing issues. After considerable effort from our side, the issues were finally resolved. If you wish to buy a bottle of mineral water, there is a dispencer opposite the front desk. A 500ml bottle costs 3 Euros. In the Carefour Express less than 100 m away from the hotel, a 1litre bottle costs 0.55 Euros. I understand premium charging but this is a bit too much. Finally, if you book a taxi to the airport, and you want to pay by card, make sure you ask for that (card payment taxi) to the receptionist who will make the booking. You have at least 50% chances of getting it right. In our case we were not so lucky; although we specifically asked for a taxi that would accept card payment, when we arrived at the airport the taxi driver could only accept cash. It may be the taxi company's mistake and not the hotel receptionist's but everything went wrong in this overall stay, so you get the idea.
It is typic europe city Hotel which near to Grand place and city center. All supermarkets and historical places around.Lobby is little bit small but rooms are comfortable.Prices reasonable.wi-fi is paid and it is disadvantege. Finally Eventhough, cental Hotel in Brussel,it is quite place to rest at all.
"Great Hotel, excellent Breakfast"
Cant fault this hotel, large room which was clean and tidy and cleaned each day, Wifi was free and worked well on the 7th floor. The breakfast was very varied, cold meats, fruit, rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon sausages, plus toast and all you can eat. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel.
"Great location, average service"
We stayed at NH Brussels City Centre four nights. The room was clean, pretty and confortable, but very small. The city was a bit chaotic since our visit came a month after the terrorist attacks, but reception staff was very kind and helped us with everyday. The breakfast was a little poor for a NH hotel and for the price we paid. However, the great location - in the heart of one of the most famous avenues in Brussels, with excellent access and very close to supermarkets - made the NH a good choice.
"Failure to keep the agreement"
I stayed here few months ago and I complained about the poor communication regarding the faulty of their rooms of which I was affected 3 times. The manager was quick to answer my complaint and agreed that I will be upgraded to a junior suite room the next time I visit the place. I visited Brussels again and stayed on this hotel expecting an agreed free upgrade to a suite room but only upgraded to a double standard room. When I approached the receptionist who don't even smile, told me that I was only upgraded to a double standard room because the single standard room that I have booked was under renovation. Cleanliness is within standard but most of the high places (e.g. Lampshade) are not properly cleaned and dusty. Housekeeper are always wearing smiles to all their clients. There was no wifi available on my second day stay but was amended the next day (wifi are too slow). There was no consistency on their service, like the refilling of coffee in a sachet, I haven't been refilled of the sachet on my second day of stay. I don't know if I will choose this hotel again in the future.
