Overall The NH Budapest City is a good value hotel in a good location.Comment of C. Robert , United Kingdom the 2016-09-20
We have stayed in NHCity hotel before when we went to Germany and were very pleased so thought we would book again when visiting Budapest. The locations quite good as you are about a 10-15Minute walk to the Danube and Chain Bridge. The hotel room itself was not very clean and we had 2 single beds pushed together with 2 single duvets. To park in NH city car park cost 14,000 HUF (£40) for 2 nights!!!! Its cheaper to get a taxi from the airport on a return. I also think parking should be free if you are booking a room with the hotel! We found the bar and resturant to be overpriced so popped to the lovely bakery that just down the road!
"Great hotel apart from the reception"
The hotel was a great hotel perfect location, the downfall... the reception staff were unhelpful and rude. They over charged us and wouldn't put it right for the breakfast. I would stay again because of the hotel was a great stay and we understand that it was particular staff which made a end to a great trip rubbish.
"Road to plbudapest Thaks NH"
It was a great experience , parking very good , the room quiet and ok bathroom vrei ok , tv , clean , great staff , no problems at the reception , check in good check out very good beautiful location beautifull city
Stayed here on a work trip. The rooms were stiflingly hot and the breakfast was extremely average. All in all a 3 star hotel maximum. I asked for a double and I had two single beds pushed together. The mini bar was very expensive and there was no iron in the room. Stayed in room 513 which is facing on to the atrium of the hotel, making it noisy through the night as people arrived and their voices echoed through the building. Not a restful or comfortable stay to be honest.
"Great hotel in the heart of the city"
This is one of the best NH hotels I know. I am a regular, so I'd expect it, but staff are very forthcoming and kind and try to solve any issues that should arise. Breakfast is a dream, I had room service this time, it was very delicious. The gym is tiny, but adequate, though the machines could be a little more on the commercial size rather than home machines. Having fruit at the gym for after the workout (apples and oranges) is a nice touch. A recurring issue is the cleaning personnels' understanding (or rather, not understanding) of privacy. First of all, they should be made aware which rooms guest are checking out of and they should leave them alone until check-out time (they won't be cleaning the room with them in there anyway, since they would have to be cleaned for the new guest only after the old one left). Secondly, they must learn that after knocking you first have to wait for a response or the lack thereof. Knocking and entering right away can lead to extremely awkward situations for both. One other issue is the price of some items in the minibar. Sure, almonds are expensive, so it is fine to set the price where it is set at, But there is no way some cheap gummy drops cost the same! It is ridiculous to charge over 5 euros for those. There has to be a more consistent pricing for minibar items in general. And a free bottle of water would be a nice touch (could be clean tap water even with some lemons like they offer at breakfast). Also wifi doesn't work in every room properly, but they gave me another room.
