"Very central "
Visited this hotel for a weekend. Great location, very modern, very friendly staff. Great choice for breakfast, nice size rooms. 10 minute walk from the Train Station which is easy from the Airport (5€)
"It's a 5 star hotel!"
This hotel has earned its 5 stars well. It is obviously in the best location if you want to be in the centre of the Dam! It is huge and stunning - inside & out. As we approached Dam Square the hotel stood out like a big beautiful sore thumb! We arrived late afternoon, which was good as I am aware you cannot check in here until 15:00. We did have one small shock however, when asked to hand over an unexpected 200 euro deposit.. But we did get this back at the end of our stay, minus the 20 euro city tax charge (which I WAS expecting). Watch out though, because if you touch that tempting mini bar full of goodies... your 200 euros will disappear! ;) Nice complementary bottle of water was appreciated though. We were at the rear of the hotel on the fourth floor. This means our view wasn't particularly scenic but it was QUIET given its' location. Our room was a double, with a huuuuuge king bed. Small-ish, but enough space in the rooms, with a lovely bathroom and shower with sliding glass door. Walking through the hotel grounds you are faced with stunning shining marble everywhere. The decor is gorgeous, modern blacks and reds. Hotel is walking distance from the train station (10/15 mins) - people told us we needed to catch a Tram, this wasn't necessary. Hotel also opposite Madam Tussaud's. (we visited - it's pricey for what you see, but it's all good fun! We got some cracking photos in there.) We did not try the breakfast, but upon passing the HUGE dining area, the food looked of a wide variety and well presented. For food, we ate Pizza Slices, Crepes & Noodles. :-) Everything is very expensive we found, and I almost felt in the gift shops the prices were made up on the spot by the Shop Assistant depending on how lucky they were feeling! :-/ The staff in the hotel were friendly and welcoming. The one negative was our last night there, we were woken at 8am by a maid shouting 'hello'!' from inside our room then disappeared and closed the door behind her when we replied'! A little early for housekeeping but I suppose we didn't have a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door.. We needed to check out by 12pm.. but checked out earlier so we had more spending money (200 euro deposit.. remember') and were thrilled when they offered to hold our luggage until later that day, free of charge. We had a lovely stay and when we go back, we will definitely consider this hotel again, given I can get another good deal! Thank you for making our stay welcoming and pleasurable.
"A fab hotel in Dam Square"
We spent one night last week and I found it better than I expect, Newly renovated so its clean and modern, very friendly staff.. and its in the center so its a short walk to every where around Amsterdam.. definitely will stay again:)
The Hotel is positioned well in the heart of Amsterdam, it has a very satisfying and pleasant feel as soon as you arrive, continued on until you leave. The Staff are very professional and helpful. The Rooms are very Clean and tidy and maintained well.
We enjoyed our stayed, staff are friendly. Room is clean ,toilet is perfect especially the shower. Hotel gives you only bottled water 1 time even you stayed for 4 days. Perfectly located by the Dam Square area where you are surrounded by restaurants and shopping , walking distance to canal cruise. Food around is a bit expensive , soda is very small unless you buy a big cola which is about 5 euro ,water and soda are mostly the same price.
