"Shorty Krakow visit. "
I stayed at the Niebieski hotel for 3 nights in February 2017. Here's a brief review for those of you thinking about booking this hotel. Firstly the negatives or areas for development: Down side: Bath for hot water. You need to run half a bath, wait a while, then fill it up again if you want a piping hot bath. Traffic noise. Some rooms face a main road, and you may here a little traffic. Though at night, trams stop just after 2300 and there are very few cars passing by. The upside of the hotel: Where do I start'! It's a small, friendly, perfectly situated hotel for visiting Krakow. On the banks of the river, you have tram stops 1,2 and six on your doorstep! Rooms are spacious, comfortable beds, spotlessly clean bathrooms stocked with products. Lovely deep baths and a shower. The room has a secure safe, plenty of hanging space, a fully stocked mini bar, complimentary tea and coffee facilities in room, as well as room service menu. My room faced the street and bit the river, but road noise after 2300 was virtually non existent. I slept very well indeed during my stay. Remarkable air conditioning! Makes no noise and hardly any airflow. At first I thought it was broken, but it's just designed to be silent. It's very effective for heating and cooling the room. Beds are comfortable and clean, with a thin duvet cover, but very warm and cosy. Breakfast was included in my booking. Beautiful restaurant overlooking the river. I can only imagine how nice this must be in the warmer months when the balconies are in use. Friendly efficient service from the waiting staff and a great variety of hot and cold breakfast items. Great quality, fresh each morning, and replenished throughout the breakfast service. There is a small bar in the lobby area if you feel like a drink. Outside and opposite the hotel is a Spar grocery, a liquor/spirits shop and a pharmacy. Great if you need supplies during your stay. Also on your doorstep is the tram stop and bus stop for travelling into town You can also walk along the river side from the hotel into Krakow. This must be quite a beautiful walk in warmer months. I didn't use the gym or spa. Reception is staffed with friendly helpful staff. They were able to supply extra USB power point cables at not extra charge, and were very helpful with tips and advice for travelling in the area. All in all, a perfect hotel, excellently located at a superbly reasonable price! The hotel has some little quirks, but I wanted hesitate in returning! Thank you to all the Niebieski staff for my wonderful, comfortable stay. Roberto.
Visited Krackow in December 2016 and started at the Niebreski. The hotel is bright and modern. Rooms are a bit dark but well equipped, hairdryer, fridge etc. The hotel is about a 10 min walk into Krackow. We walked along the river which is nice but didn't want to risk walking back in the dark so took a taxi (about 20 zloty). Krackow is lovely plenty of nice restaurants and bars. We also took a golf buggy ride around the city. We visited Auchwitz which is a full day tour. The Site is treated with great respect and we are pleased that we went. The tour guides speak English and are very knowledgeable. We also used the tram to get around, its very easy and cheap. Staff in the hotel speak English (we did try some Polish!). We didn't use the spa only because there is so much to see and do. Nothing wrong with the hotel but if we went again we would stay in the main square only to be in the centre of things.
Staff here were very welcoming and helpful. Hotel very clean and food to high standard. Room very modern and beds low. First time I've encountered a plastic mattress cover on a bed in a '5 star' hotel! Hotel is right by the river which was a pleasant walk into the city taking about 15 minutes to the old square.
"Great hotel at about 10 minutes from city center"
Although this hotel is situated at about 10 minutes walk from the city center (along the river), I can't believe you find a better hotel than this. All staff is very friendly, the room was big, modern and very clean. I had a room along the road but had no traffic noise in the morning or evening. Breakfast is served on first floor and the choice is huge. I ordered once room service in the evening: only positive critics about the service and food. Next time being in Krakow, I surely come back to this hotel
"Not 5 stars "
We booked this hotel as part of a trip to the Christmas market in Krakow. It was perfectly adequate- reasonably well situated, quite quiet and comfortable, but the staff were not at all friendly and in some cases, quite awkward. We paid a lot extra for the breakfasts which were expensive by Polish standards and not good value for money by any standards. The staff had clearly been told to ensure guests paid and on our first morning I was told no less than 4 times that it wasn't included and I would have to sign for it. I liked the quietness but disliked the staff attitude and lack of atmosphere- the 'art' bit was evidenced by two odd statues dressed as angels in feathers, and the spa offered facials with snail slime..
