"Beautiful but bad smells"
We arrived here Monday and we are so in love with this place. It's such a great location in terms of the beach and lots of amazing local restaurants. I have such great things to say about the location and the beach area. This is our honeymoon and the ending of it as we have been travelling for 2 weeks however I can't get over the smell of sewage in this hotel. We have smelt this on and off for several days now but tonight is by far the worst. We have just finished having a glass of wine and thought we would turn on for the night and as soon as we got to our floor the smell of sewage is almost unbearable :( definitely a mood killer and pretty disgusting. The smell have travelled all throughout the 6th floor and is now in our room. I wanna give this place to stars but the smell the last couple days especially tonight has been so disappointing :(
"Still brilliant "
Just stayed here for nine nights again this year. Was fantastic as always. Francisco and the whole team are providing a superior level of service. Nina on guest services is doing a wonderful job assisting and helping guests out wherever she can. Wonderful clean rooms, brilliant food at a superb location. Suite 407 is something special. Will be back again next year ... Thanks J&S.
"Steps to the beach but away from the mob"
This is an elegant hotel with very broad beachfront exposure, as opposed to some of the hotels which only have a narrow strip of waterfront. The beach itself is on public land but the location of the hotel limits the number of guests (and locals) that would come here. As a result it is not over-run with people. You do have to pay a nominal fee to the beach vendor if you want to use their lounge chairs or get some shade from the built-in umbrellas, but this expense was modest and we didn't mind helping out the local economy. The breakfast buffet was fantastic--many selections, including fresh pastries, fresh smoked salmon, fruit & cheese, champagne with orange juice and all kinds of eggs. The breakfast patio overlooking the ocean is fantastic. Didn't care too much for the amount of smokers amongst the european tourists, but at least we were outside. Complements go out to the crew at the Popa Restaurant--Marlene, Carlos and Paloma, who provided excellent service to complement the beautiful setting. And, yes, the food was fabulous. Make reservations as the place is small & quaint. Also thanks to front desk clerks Emi and Juan for providing great advice and information, and, yes their english is excellent. I also heard them giving help in German. American kids would be well served to excel in another language besides english! Heck, they would be well served to even speak english better! Our room was spacious and we enjoyed the private balcony. The quality of the materials in the hotel was very good--marble floors, high end furniture, top quality bath fixtures--this is a beach front hotel that has a luxurious experience awaiting for each guest.
"Great location for the best of both worlds"
If you want both a beach and a city break then this hotel is for you- minutes away from the centre of town in a bus €1.50 or taxi €9 there is nothing keeping you from venturing into town for a spot of lunch or sightseeing- but you still have access to a great beach RIGHT FROM THE HOTEL. Not really anything major negative to say- the bath didn't drain great- but honestly- great stay- The breakfasts was nice- the hotel restaurant was great too- definitely worth a visit
