"Really nice design hotel in a great location"
Really elegantly designed hotel in the heart of Stockholm. Lots of interesting shops, restaurants and attractions just within minutes of walk. The old town is also a mere 10 minute walk across the bridge. I had booked a deluxe room with view but was bumped up one level thanks to SPG Gold status. The room was spacious. I loved all the decor especially the lights. The bed was big and very comfortable. The only thing was that the King-sized bed came with two single duvets instead of one big one. I'd heard of this particular oddity with some Scandinavian hotels but this was my first time to experience it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall the stay was excellent. I'd stay in this hotel again without a doubt.
"'Effektiv' – Efficient & Effective"
I’ve stayed at the Nobis Hotel several times in the past and the reason I keep returning is because of their efficiency. Coming from a hotel that is drenched in ‘Swedishness,’ it’s no surprise that this efficiency is effective – after all, the word for efficient is the same as effective in Swedish. The hotel synthesises the historical with the modern through its Revolution-style exterior and its quintessential Scandinavian style interiors, imparting a wholesomely Swedish experience for travellers. The lounge, sauna and gym were all quintessentially Swedish and relaxing simultaneously. The hotel is wonderfully situated in the middle of Stockholm, just a stone’s cast away from well known restaurants and stores. I was given a disabled room upon arrival but requested a change. While disabled room is much more spacious than a regular room, I preferred a non-automatic door and a glass shower. The hotel staff were more than willing to assist me with the change but the hotel was, unfortunately, fully booked up for the first day. They offered and arranged a room-switch for the next day. Although I was greeted with efficiency and warm smiles when interacting with the front desk, I felt that there was a lack of recognition and personal touches. This is most likely due to the fusing of their guest experience, concierge and front desk teams. That said, I would like to extend a special thanks to Jonathan for suggesting Christmas markets to go to as well as a good time to walk-in at Matbaren.
"Stocholm on business and shopping with friends. "
Nobis is a very nice hotel with helpful and pleasant stff. They have a very good breakfast buffet with all kind of stuff. I stayed on the 5th floor with a great view over Norrmalstorg. The location is lso perfect for shopping :-)
"BEAUTIFUL hotel but extremely noisy + handful of missteps"
The great: -The Nobis Hotel is stunningly beautiful, inside and out, including common areas and guest rooms. -The Lounge is relaxing during the day and vibrant and fun in the evenings. Prices are not bad compared to other local bars. -The front desk staff are exceptionally helpful and all are extremely knowledgeable about the city, as well as willing to help guests experience it. During our multiple-day stay here, the staff proactively offered suggestions for activities each day, including those that were appropriate based on the weather. We enjoyed everything they recommended. -The hotel is in a great, central location in which we felt very safe and also had easy access to every major neighborhood, attraction, and transportation hub. -The steam room and sauna were lovely and, each night we went, empty. The gym was also quite nice by hotel standards and empty as well-- if this is important to you when considering where to stay, this is a great option! The bad -We arrived very early and asked if we might be accommodated. The staff advised that nothing was available immediately, but would be happy to prioritize the cleaning of our room so that we could check in in ~1.5 hours (still about 4 hours before standard check in time). They held our luggage while we went for breakfast and came back after the 1.5 hours. The front desk agent said the team needed about 10 more minutes to finalize, but didn't complete (or update us) for nearly 40 minutes. We were still grateful to be in early, but would have welcomed an update so that we might have gone back out for a bit while they wrapped up, enjoyed a drink in the lounge, etc. -When we did go up to our room, we asked for our luggage but the team member who checked us in insisted that she would have it sent up instead. We went upstairs to shower and take a nap, expecting our luggage to arrive shortly. After showering and a nap, we realized that it had been just over two hours and our luggage had not been delivered. We called down to ask about it, and were apologized to and told it would be delivered immediately. Shortly after we received a phone call asking which numbers appeared on our luggage check claim tags because they could not find based on our room number. They did locate and brought up a few minutes later, but was a frustrating and stressful experience with the delay and concern that they were lost, especially since we initially asked to just bring them up ourselves when we checked in. (Both this issue with luggage and the frustrating experience with delay at checkin were related to one front desk staff member and I do believe she may have been the exception to an otherwise terrific staff, but both were disappointing nonetheless.) -The room was EXTREMELY noisy. We were in room 461--near the corner--and, each night, it sounded like we were inside of a club. I understand that the hotel cannot control the outside noise--and they do provide two sets of ear plugs in the drawer above the safe--there must be more than can be done with regards to soundproofing. While the rooms that face the water and Square have the most beautiful views, I would recommend insisting on having a room that faces neither if you are in town for work or other events that require good sleep. I am not a light or sensitive sleeper. -We booked a reservation at the hotel's onsite restaurant, Caina. The food was spectacular, but the service was poor, in that the waiter regularly stopped with two separate tables to have in-depth conversations while completely disregarding our table. While I'm sure it was wonderful service for the other guests with whom he stopped to chat quite a few times, it left us waiting an extended amount of time in between drinks and courses. When we were ready to leave, it took more than 25 minutes to get his attention, and eventually put our coats on and retrieved our bill from the host. -The rooms are on the small side. Recommend considering upgrading to a larger room if you are traveling with luggage for more than a weekend or so. The design, most staff, sauna/steam/fitness facilities, and location are definitely deserving of five stars.
This hotel was in great location...If the rooms hadn't been so small I would have rated it a 5! This staff was amazing! They were incredibly helpful and patient with all my questions and jumped to help me with any thing I needed! They were very friendly and seemed genuinely care about making my stay a great one! The breakfast is some of the best I've ever had in a hotel! It was delicious and plentiful… and here too the staff was very accommodating! The location was outstanding, though I must admit it can get noisy in this area. The room even though I got a superior room was still quite small… it was even hard to open our suitcases fully!
