We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The food wasn't very good and the room might have been a bit bigger, but it was very clean and we were especially happy with the excellent service and the friendly staff. Our special thanks go out to Jerome, who makes the best cocktails, Anduel who was very kind, Royston who has a great sense of humour, Nina who was very helpful and Marcel who made our check in the best ever.Comment of V. "Nice hotel and friendly staff"
We were a family of four - me, husband and our two kids. We've enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is very easy to get to from the airport; only two stops on the train. It was also very easy to get to the city, the tram number 4 was just outside from the hotel. Our main purpose was to go to Keukenhof and the hotel only being 2 stops from the airport, it was very easy to get there. The staff were very friendly and they were was willing to help. They helped us with our trip itinerary giving us tips. The only thing I have to complain is the price of the breakfast. The breakfast was 22,50 euros per person and we found very expensive. We only had breakfast once!
"Overall Good but not great"
Overall the hotel was good and met basic requirements of a good night sleep. We did not have breakfast so cant comment. Basically we wanted only ala carte option for breakfast but they only had the buffet option. Could not find any good cafes nearby and each day we had to first travel to the city center as cafes near the hotel were mostly closed could only find one cafe one day but options were limited. Location wise its a bit away from the city center but you have option of tram and metro to connect you to the city center and you can reach in around 20~30 minutes. You also have direct connection with the airport via Sprinter train. So connectivity wise its good and close to the station. Rooms were good and bed was as required. So thats the good part. But we personally did not like the bathrooms and cleaning was also not up to mark on the first day and rest of the days it was good. If you have work near the RAI region then this may be a good option, but for tourists as we had to daily take a train up to Centraal as all tours begin from there. Given the amount spent and the time on commuting daily to the city center, may be our requirements were a bit different from what the hotel offers. WiFi was good.
"Easter break 2017"
my wife and I stayed here in April 2017 for the Easter period flying from London Gatwick to Amsterdam Schiphol. Quickest route from Schiphol to this hotel is by the southern rail main line train to Rai, this is only about 5 mts walk to the Novotel Amsterdam city Hotel. Here you will also find the Metro, Busses, Trams and of course the Mainline Rail . If you stay here the Tram takes about 20-25 mts to the center, Metro about 15 mts and train 10 mts. We got a single ticket from Airport to hotel and a three day ticket to use the busses, Trams and Metro. ( This was a really good way to do it) The hotel was very clean and rooms good sized with tea/coffee facilities and a free safe in the room. Staff here we found to be good but just the few that couldn't be bothered, this was not really an issue though! Drinks at the bar were a little pricey as was the food here in the hotel. The breakfast was really good with all tastes catered for, meats, cheeses, breads salads, fruits eggs, omelets etc, etc were all here and in abundant supply. There is not much to do around the hotel itself but as above a short tram or Metro ride away is all you want! Prices in Amsterdam are EXPENSIVE, However steer clear of the cake shops as two waffles with cream can set you back about 14 euros !!! :( Ask for prices first before you commit to buy! We thought that Amsterdam has gone down hill recently but Two days will do you here!
"A nice Hotel"
We passed the Easter Holidays in Amsterdam, a family of 4. Novotel is a nice hotel clean enough, spacious lobby area and restaurant. Breakfast is rich covering all kind of tastes. Unfortunately as a business oriented hotel does not have family rooms, so we took 2 connecting rooms a thing that rises the cost. Rooms are not very spacious but they are OK. Tram stop is 3 mins walk from the hotel and city center is about 20 mins ride.
"It's a good budget Hotel "
This is a good place if you are in back pack trip mode. The rooms are small but does not make much difference if you just need it to sleep. It's in the center of city so overall a good pick. The view from the top floors is amazing and they have all the required basic amenities .
