"A great location in the heart of Beijing"
If you're the typical traveller who'd love to explore your the main shopping district of Beijing and be central to the main tourist sites, then the Novotel Beijing Peace is the hotel for you. First and foremost, the staff at this hotel were amazing and accomodating (this is what you want). When you first walk into the lobby, you'll be mesmerised by the long staircase. The bar area is nice to have a few drinks every night (that's what I did of course!) As for the accomodation itself, if you're after a great deal and basic accomodation, this is the place. I can ended up staying in a room located in the older part of the hotel. I stayed in a Standard Twin Room which was very basic but a good size for two people. A very clean room I must say (cleaned everyday and always as good as new), however, it did smell like smoke which was at times unpleasant. Above all, you do get what you pay for at this hotel. If you're willing to pay more, you'll definitely stay in a better room. I would stay at the Novotel Beijing Peace again.
"Fleeting trip. .."
Booked Novotel as was a safe bet in a place that seemed so far removed from anything I'd ever experienced. Huge room...very comfortable...immense choice at breakfast...choose happy hour at the bar...much cheaper...Staff did their very best to accomodate is and although language was a bit tricky, their knowledge of English far exceeded my Chinese! Would go again.
"Great service and location"
We stayed at this place for a few nights! Amazing location and great service! Just a bit tired the hotel, it needs refurbishing. Otherwise I would totally stay again for sure!!! The breakfast at the executive floor is just great!!!
"Excellent location, comfortable rooms but very poor English on the tour desk"
I stayed at the Novotel Beijing Peace in December 2016/January 2016 for a couple of nights on two occasions on either side of an organised tour I took to Pyongyang, DPRK. I found the location to be perfect, and very close to the main shopping district as well as within walking distance to the Forbidden City. The rooms were extremely comfortable, and pricing was very affordable. I ordered room service, which was quick, and the meals were very good. The breakfast buffet was quite decent too. The only issue I found was the poor English of the staff placed on the tour desk. You would think that English speakers are a MUST when dealing with tourists. I struggled to get any coherent information on tours available to me. I was simply offered a brochure with a small selection of tours however the staff on the tour desk were not able to answer any of my questions related to those tours. Even a question as simple as 'what time does the tour start'' completely baffled the staff. So you can imagine how confused the staff member was when I asked if there were any souvenir shops nearby. In the end, I was unable to book any half day tours with the Novotel tour desk because I just couldn't get a straight answer. I was disappointed with that. I should note that English was spoken very well across the rest of the hotel. Overall, a very pleasant stay. I would certainly stay at this hotel again, and would encourage others to do so too.
Every thing was excellent, from staff to rooms to meals. In particular was your staff at the reception lobby on the ground floor and on the 19th floor. The VIP package was very much appreciated and I will definitely use this package again.
