Perfect location 200 meter from WangFuJing pedestrian street and close to subway Dengshikou. Excellent service from all staff. Huge breakfast buffet. Rooms are a bit worn but OK. Have stayed here before in 2016 and will for sure book this hotel again for our next visit to Beijing.
"Spacious rooms, comfortable bed, friendly staff, good breakfast....bad smell!"
We stayed here for three nights as part of our China tour. Our check in was flawless. The bellhop took our bags to our room. The room was spacious but a bit dated. Everything in the room was comfortable and everything worked except the safe. Not really a big deal. We had breakfast (included) in the buffet with a wide selection of Western and Asian dishes. These changed somewhat daily! Everything was quite tasty although not always hot...but still good! My only complaint was the smell. Near the elevators and the public toilets by the buffet, there was a very strong sewage smell as noted by other guests. At times it was minimal, others quite strong. If you get past that, it is a good basic hotel. Very close to restaurants and two different shopping malls. Don't miss the food street to the west and north of the hotel!
"Excellent Service,and room"
The room and service were excellent. I feel warm welcome in the hotel reception and the excellent service in the breakfast restaurant. The staff were very attentive and helpful with beautiful smile all the times. The morning breakfast were very good with many choices to choose from.
"Don't stay here"
I have stayed in many Accor properties across the globe over recent years and the Novotel Beijing Peace is below the standard Accor aims to deliver. There is a serious occupational health and safety issue presented by the stench of sewerage and mould. Firstly, the smell of sewerage wafted through the shower drainage every time I turned on the shower. There was also the smell of sewerage in the lift area, which almost made me dry reach. Secondly, the carpet in my room emitted a smell of mould and showed large water stains which looked quite unappealing. The hotel's credit, the reception relocated me from the first room I was assigned (which had a terrible smell of cigarette smoke and mould). However, the second room I stayed in presented its own array of delightful smells. If you plan to stay at this hotel make alternate arrangements for internet access, as the hotel's wifi is incompatible with Android devices. This seems nonsensical if this hotel is accommodating guests from abroad. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel. As a long time Accor customer, I strongly urge Accor to review the Novotel Beijing Peace as I do not believe this hotel building meets the standard that Accor aims to deliver.
Really convenient location if you're visiting Beijing as a tourist. Located a couple of blocks away from the Wangfujing shopping area and the subway is only a couple of blocks away as well. Close to the Forbidden Palace, Tiananmen Square and Temple of Heaven. The lobby of the hotel was really nice and the staff was able to provide guidance and recommendations fluently in English. The rooms seemed a bit dated but clean.
