This was the first time I had stayed at Oaks on Lonsdale. I was in a studio apartment on the 27th floor. The apartment was spacious enough, clean and tidy. However, the air conditioning made a whining noise all night. There was no security lock on the inside of the door, which made me feel a bit uneasy being on my own. And on check out, the staff didn't even ask how my stay was, just that I was paid up so I could go. I would consider staying here again, but I expect better service for a Melbourne CBD hotel.
"Well located hotel"
The Oaks is a very well located hotel in downtown Melbourne. It is clean and efficient and the unit was very comfortable for 2 adults, with a separate bedroom. It is close to tram and bus stops and the staff was friendly and helpful. Even though it is located on a busy street, there was very little noise inside our unit in the 16th floor. There was a nice little balcony for sitting outside the in the evening.
"Great, clean and spacious"
I had a great stay. I asked for a one bedroom apartment which I found very spacious and comfortable. The front desk staffer was great. He was very helpful as I had arrived well before my check in time. He offered to do all the paperwork early and take my bags so I could have a wander around. When I got up to my room I found that the shower head leaked and the radio in the apartment didn't work, I let the front desk know on my way out to dinner and by the time I got back they had been fixed! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting some space but still be very close to the center!
Good location. very cost-effective within the walking distance to most renowned tourist spots and public transportation. Although I'm not customed to use the alarm in the room, the 24hr staff on duty kindly promised to wake me up at 5am by calling to my cell or even agree to knock my door if i don't answer the phone. Many tks for Deshan on duty of Feb.6 who helped me,
"Lost booking,broken door, noisy neighbours"
We booked Oaks as we expected the brand had a good reputation what with the golf course and resorts etc. Perhaps it was Hotels.com who made the booking error but the hotel had the incorrect dates which did not match my confirmation email. The card reader in our room door was broken and after an hour of waiting and inconvenience we had to suggest a room change. We were moved to a room with the locked adjoining door. The neighbours in that adjoining room were noisy with drunken singing well-beyond midnight. Our very small room didn't even match the images and description on their own website.
