"New Years Eve until 4/1/17"
We went to Dublin for New Years Eve celebrations and stayed until evening 3/1/17. Hotel was perfect location and staff were lovely, room was nice and was even ready when we arrived at 12pm. Breakfast was very nice, imagine lovely in summer in glass breakfast area. Would def visit again. If we go again for nye- would book local restaurant for a meal, as we left it too late to sort it out and ended up in Irish pub with friendly Irish people, who even shared champagne with us at midnight. Ryan Air were on time going but delayed returning, which is very unusual for them. Definitely worth a visit.
Special trip to Dublin for my partners birthday, left disappointed by the fact we had no hot water all weekend, was told they had some problems with electricity but that was all the help we got. Breakfast was served buffet style and was flat cold on the first morning, waited 15 minutes for some fresh bacon to be brought out the second morning. Considering I paid for a nice hotel as a special birthday treat it really wasn't good.
"Fabulous weekend in Dublin "
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. Luka greeted us with the warmest of welcomes and made us feel like royalty. I had arranged with the hotel beforehand to put a bottle of prosecco in our room as a surprise for my boyfriend along with a note which was all executed brilliantly. They were efficient at responding over email & it was a lovely surprise to find that we'd been upgraded too. The room was amazing. The King Size bed was really comfy. The bathroom was lovely too with a nice powerful shower. Didn't use the bath but looked good too. We used the fitness centre too which was great to get a quick workout in before all the Guinness & whiskey tasting! Breakfast was good value. Breakfast buffet for 12 Euros with lots of selection. The hotel has a great location. We went to The Little Kitchen for dinner which we'd booked in advance. It was highly recommended on TA & it didn't disappoint. There are also some nice bars dotted round.. The Opium (Indian restaurant) looked really good. We visited The Book of Kells exhibition which is well worth a visit. The Long Room is stunning. Great to walk around the grounds of Trinity college too. The Guinness tour is a must. We ended up getting a Hailo out to the Guinness Storehouse. People use Hailo more than Uber - Hailo is a lot cheaper. Would definitely return to Dublin & stay at this hotel again. Thanks to Luka & the team at Stephen Green O'Callaghan's hotel for making it such a memorable weekend.
We stayed here to go Christmas shopping in Dublin & to enjoy a night out together in the city. We normally stay at the Fitzwilliam but decided to try somewhere different -big mistake! The room we paid for was certainly not 'Executive and was over priced. The selection of drinks available at the bar (that wasn't staffed properly ) were very poor - no Carlsberg, no Champagne, no atmosphere etc. Our breakfast order was then lost the following morning and we had to wait over an hour to for get fed - over all a very dismal stay. Would we book to stay here again' Definitely not.
"Dublin great, hotel disappointing"
Over for 2 days to spend time with in daughter in laws family, first visit to Dublin. Great city. so easy to walk loads to see, good restaurants and shopping. Went to Howth and had fantastic lunch at Beshoffs, superb seafood and such good staff.big and comfortable Breakfasted in Carluccios! yes went to Italian in Ireland, but great food loads of it and great service. they get lots of local regulars so that says volumes. Stayed at the O'Callaghans Stephens Green, great location, but really needs a tart up! Reception is very sad dull and grubby. Carpets need a good clean! room OK a bit depressing colour wise, the lighting was awful, bed big and comfortable. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, and shaving mirror light not working and wires visible at the back of it. Just not being maintained at the level you would expect of a hotel at that level. Others in the square were so much better! overall the location was the redeeming feature.
