"Excellent service - My Barcelo a winner"
We stayed a while back now but neglected to review so here are our thoughts. We arrived under our own steam having booked directly with the hotel with BA flights, the booking was system was easy and by using the Barcelo website we joined the My Barcelo we picked up a discounted price and over €300 in hotel credit to be used for drinks upgrades and extras (we struggled to use this but catch that later). Although the checkin desk was busy the My Barcelo scheme gave preferential check in and we were seen immediately with the process being typically European but certainly not the painful check-in described in other reviews. The only flaw we found was a lack of bell boy to get bags to the room however all the room blocks are just a short distance away. The room we booked was an adjoining family suite - basically two large junior suites on a corner setting split behind multiple doors - the rooms size was very good and recently decorated, good storage, mini bar fridges, immaculately clean with large balconies. we were at the back of the block so overlooked well tended gardens and had no noise from the pool area. We had a welcome basket of fruit and were able to stock the fridges with bottles of water from the all inclusive bar (readily offered in great volume). Both rooms did suffer from blocked sinks and while it took a couple of visits to reception to get fixed on the second day or so they fixed with the problem not re-occurring. The food and all inclusive was of a good standard with plenty of choice, varied themed nights and plenty to keep the kids interested - not once did they hit the children's options choosing the adult offerings over nuggets every time. The hotel offered dishes like salted cod, dog fish and clam meatballs, a good selection of mexican dishes and grills and pasta specials umongst other dishes and for an all inclusive buffet restaurant the choice was good, varied and certainly not the usual chips with everything some AI hotels default to. They even had a tongue in cheek kabab special one night with chilli and garlic sauce that could have come from the local late night take away! wine and beer along with soft drinks from dispensers as expected and a good wine list including cava and Champagne (the real thing) could be ordered and was using your room credit at more than reasonable rates. The pools and entertainment were great although not a great deal in happened in the evening but this suited us perfectly. The kids clubs were very well run and varied day to day with the organisers allowing my then 2 year old to join in as long as we stayed close. A long way from the usual computer says no approach to age at kids clubs. The life guards were fairly strict with kids but on a couple of occasions we saw them diving into pools to help kids on the off chance and were absolutely all over safety. The moment of truth with this hotel however could have had this review written with a very different experience. During the first week my daughters favourite Steiff Bear (a very expensive teddy bear) managed to be lost by a maid when cleaning the room, the hotel could not locate it through the laundry service and we had a distraught 7 year old who's best friend since birth was gone. In most hotels this would have been the end of it however the Guest Service Manager - Sol not only took a level of responsibility that is rare in hotels now but really went to the next level by taking photos of the bear managed to replace the lost bear with a brand new one ordered from mainland Spain and couriered to the hotel before our stay ended. This alone has proven Barcelo hotels are a brand to look at in a different light and we will not only be back to this hotel, we have our 2017 family holiday booked at a Barcelo with a golf trip also about to be booked. Well done - great hotel with great service.
I booked the Barcelo as a last minute surprise for my fiance. Have never been to Ibiza before so chose this hotel as have booked a Barcelo in Fuerteventura in January so wanted to taste the Barcelo experience. What can I say, absolutely fantastic! Quality standards in every aspect from the brilliant reception greeting, the room, dining, entertainment everything was first class and I am now looking forward even more to January. First impressions count and we had a smooth check in and a cold meal waiting for us as we were on a late flight. Comfortable beds and the wonderful shower were particular plusses in the lovely clean rooms. The sunbeds were the best and most comfortable we have seen and always available. The staff worked so hard to make it an enjoyable experience special mention to Sol who gave a lovely surprise by leaving a bottle of cava on ice for my fiance's birthday, Manuel at the bar who was very pleasant and remembered our drinks (no ice lol). The entertainment team all seemed to work 24/7 don't know how they had the energy to dance at night they were excellent. So a big big thank you to all at Barcelo for a wonderful stay.
"'Family holiday.....FAB STAY'!!!!!!!!!!"
We went to Ibiza in October and stayed at the Barceló for a late deal A.I. in October, just before they closed for the season. My goodness, it is lovely! Staff friendly and helpful, a never ending supply of divine food and drink on offer, kids club good, rooms were very clean each day with fresh towels and shampoo / conditioner and soap etc.. everything was fab. It was lovely to be able to sit outside on the restaurant terrace for our meals. Alas some days they didn't have the staff to open the terrace so we had to sit inside (still lovely but not as nice) 'Most of the bar staff were very friendly, a couple were a little bit grumpy but, it didn't dampen our spirits. A bit of a pain not being provided with larger bottles of water each day in the room, so we kind of had to 'stock pile' little bottles of water (you are only allowed to collect 2 drinks at a time when you go to the bar) so we had to all take turns in going but, that was fine.' I would say that the pools are ALL FREEZING! perhaps it was end of season and they had turned the heating off but, it was a shame as it would have been good to hop in and out and do some lengths each day and likewise for the children to spend a little more time in the pools without shivering so much, however... no matter, as the sea (only 300 mtres away) was lovely and warm / clean and heavenly! We all (4 of us-2 adults and 2 girls) had a wonderful time and hope to return (price willing) in 2017. It has something for everyone and can recommend to anyone. Thank you!
"Good Holiday - Nearly Great!"
Stayed at the Barcelo on a late deal in October with my wife and 2 kids. Really impressed with the place, the cleanliness of the hotel was second to none and it looked modern and fresh. Food was of decent quality and one of the better places for food that we have stayed at. Something for everyone, different themed nights and even for our fussy girl, she was quite happy with the choice and eat more than she normally does. Drinks were very good and really liked the self-service area which I thought was a great touch. As not big drinkers there was enough choice for both me and my wife and the food in the self-service area was a great alternative to lunch in the restaurant. The location was not the best, quite far out but we picked it at the end of the day and i'm sure if we'd been there in the height of summer, more places nearby would have been open. Nice beach nearby and we are not usually beachgoers and you could also get the boat to San Antonio which was useful. Swimming pools were very cold but again its that time of the year, so no complaints there really. Entertainment was OK - they certainly tried hard but i think sometimes there was confusion about what was going on as they speak in 4/5 different languages very quickly. shows weren't the best but not through lack of effort. Rooms were fantastic, very modern and the shower in the room was great and we had a decent view. bed was very comfy, too much at times lol zzzzzzzzzzzz All in all, a great holiday and the Barcelo was very good. Would stay there again!
"Excellent short break"
We had a 4 day stay at the Barcelo Pueblo Ibiza (Oct 2016) wish we had stayed longer. The hotel & Rooms were clean, the food was Excellent with a good choice, i know some people complain about food in hotels but when catering for a lot of people every day i dont know what they expect. I liked the self service beer in the pool / Snack bar.
