"Five stars for customer service"
I have been visiting this hotel annually to compete at the European BJJ championships for many years. Don't get me wrong this isn't a five star hotel in many senses, but and its a big but the customer service is second to none. The staff don't change and this means they get to know you and do their best to make your stay pleasurable. On a recent stay i was given a free upgrade to my room with a river view. Its a shame the tournament is moving
I got back from here today and loved the hotel. I stayed for 6 nights. I ate in the hotel every day, the food was good and there was a good choice. My first day in Lisbon City, I spent £35 for a lunch of 2 courses, whereas in the Hotel Lunch/dinner cost less than £20 for 3 good courses. All staff very professional and courteous and the concierges have a good knowledge of the area/transport and what to see... and good humour :) Rooms are a good size and cleaned to a high standard daily. I would stay here again with no hesitation Metro is 30 seconds left from Hotel, ticket machines easy to use, remember to keep hold of your Metro card as they cost 50c if you bin it... Like I did o.0 Metro is very easy to use and 6.50 Euro for 1 days metro and Buses Supermarket, 30 seconds Right out of Hotel :)
"Good place and structure "
Very good place and structure. There is a metro line and some stores next to hotel. I had some problems with my reservation and the staff were not so helpfull, but my problem was solved by tourism staff.
"Some pluses and some minuses"
There is a lot to say about this hotel, some good things and some less good. First of all, the location is very convenient, just in front of a metro station and with a big car park. The view on the bay from the room windows is awesome and the staff is very nice and friendly (I promised to Marco I would mention him by name in my review). On the down side, the hotel was surely very luxurious when it was built but the maintenance has not been up to its former grandeur. The door of our bathroom wouldn't close at all, the door would not fit in the frame anymore, we had to put the bin behind to keep some privacy. The restaurant is big but only one room is open for breakfast, far too small for all the customers, people are walking around the tables desperately looking for a free space, the buffet is emptied in no time and the refill can be long. The staff is clearly overloaded. I thought it was exceptional as they had received some big bus loads but a waiter confirmed it was like that every day. Poor management obviously.
"Dog friendly :-)"
We had a satisfying stay and great to know a place where dogs are allowed to be with us. Access from the hotel to downtown or the river is really easy. ...and good to have parking. We will come back and will recommend the hotel to our friends.
