"Lovely Hotel in Great Location"
Brilliant hotel. Very central easy to walk to all the main attractions. Entrance is through a restaurant and you have to ring a buzzer to get in so very secure. We were allocated 2 rooms which were huge. High ceilings, lovely big bed and a luxurious bathroom with bath and walk in shower. No restaurant so staff brought our breakfast to our room and laid it our on the table ready for the time we requested. Excellent service and staff very friendly and helpful. Loved it
"Fantastic hotel - would have given 5 stars but..."
This hotel is absolutely lovely, I would go back to it in a heartbeat. It's in walking distance of everything. Lots of people have commented to say watch out for the tourist traps charging lots for food and drink etc. but let me tell you, Prague is cheap! The most I paid for a pint of beer was still only £3 (I work in London so this is a dream for me) and that was in the main tourist area - when people say watch out for the tourist traps it's because generally outside the square and further afield, beer is about £1-£1.50! I think breakfast served in the room is such a nice touch and something we've never had before. The room is gorgeous, massive bed, beautiful chandelier. Our room window was under a busy street so was a little noisy but not the hotel's fault. The walls are a little thin too, I woke in the night to a couple having a REALLY good time…again I don't point the hotel at fault for this. The reason I have given this a 4 and not a 5 is because upon check in the hotel charged some sort of deposit payment of £400 out of our bank account (I've never had this at a hotel we've stayed at before). When we checked out is when they took payment for the actual cost of our stay and they cancelled the £400 payment. This really didn't make any logically sense to me. Though the money is on it's way back to us, it has been a nightmare because I'm having to contact my bank, whom now want a transaction statement from the hotel that says they've released the money etc., let alone the fact that I'm £400 down. It would have been much easier and a lot less hassle if, as a deposit, we just gave the hotel one of our bank cards to keep throughout our stay, or some hotels I've stayed at have taken our passports as a form of deposit. Charging us and then cancelling the transaction has been a pain in the butt and I'm still trying to sort it out now. Overall highly recommend this hotel – they should just change this deposit method thing.
"Excellent Hotel in Great Location"
I really enjoyed my stay with the Old Town Square Hotel, their customer care is first class. If I am honest, I wasn't a fan of the entrance through the restaurant, and prefer more classical style hotel lobby areas, but other than that it was great, and in the best location in Prague. Breakfast in your room is a new one on me, and again, by choice I would choose a dinning room, but never the less the choice, quantity and quality was ace, as was the timeliness of deliver - exactly when it was ordered for, I would stay here again every time I am in Prague, The room was huge.
"Great location, great service"
We are a family of 5 and stayed for 3 nights. The room was roomy and clean and the service was outstanding. Breakfast was served in the room each morning which was great. The hotel is in a prime location right on the Old Town Square. This means there is a bit of noise at night - the double windows help to muffle the sound but if you are a light sleeper keep this in mind. It was worth it for the location and our kids slept through the noise so it wasn't a problem.
The hotel is in an amazing location right in the heart of the square. Breakfast bought to your room every day was perfect. Friendly staff, really helpful to the point they recognized us in a busy square coming over on what was their break to say our taxi had been booked for the airport. An amazing hotel would definitely recommend.
