We really enjoyed this hotel, you could not have asked for a better location!! The room was very clean, bed was super comfortable. I cannot speak about the food since we did not eat at the restaurant. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating! I could not hear any people on either side of the room through the walls, but you could hear doors closing quite easily.Comment of H. Lynne , United States the 2016-10-28
"Incredible bed and great costumer service"
After a long day of walking we found a bottle of champagne and chocolates waiting for us on our first night (I mentioned in our reservation that it was our second time there). Such a thoughtful gesture - but it is nothing compared to their bed! (Though, maybe that is the exhaustion talking). The location was incredible and the service is top of the line. The rooms are relatively big compared to the tiny rooms every NYC hotel review promises. On our last day we were able to check out early and leave our bags with the bell man stored in a room where I felt our belongings would be safe (many hotels just allow you to leave your bags to the side and make it clear they are not responsible for lost items). I got the room on an incredible deal, but even if I had paid more I would have been extremely satisfied. Will definitely try to come back.
"Dated and lack of care"
Room looked sad, even more so now that "management" removed the minibar and there is an empty space where it used to be. The air conditioner unit couldn't be controlled so my whole family the whole visit, plus it made a squeaking noise so the only way we could stop it was by shutting the whole unit off. The only thing going for this hotel is the location, this was our 4th time staying here and it has been going downhill since our first visit here.
Stopped by Bob's bar on our way to the room and met Sonny, the bartender. He said it was his first day. I knew that was a complete joke. After a little conversation found out it was his first day at the Omni but over 35 years in the business and it shows! He is a true professional, a bit old school, which makes him even more special. Can't wait for the desert drink tomorrow
Often stay at this hotel Conveniently located on 52nd between Madison and Fifth. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Bedding could use an upgrade. Normally nice service. Mini bar no longer available in the room Depending on room type noise level is normally ok.
"Perfect Hotel, Perfect Location"
Everything at the Omni Berkshire Place Hotel was wonderful and the impression the hotel and staff left was spectacular! I can't explain how much we enjoyed ourselves. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and all of the arrangements David Kanters, Rooms Director and Beatriz McGowan, Chef Concierge, made for us were perfect. After a horrible experience at the Omni Dallas (see previous review of this Hotel on tripadvisor), their Director of Rooms contacted the David who upgraded us to the Madison Suite. When we arrived and got to our room, we found a cheese tray, four bottles of water, a fresh orchid, and a thank you note on the living room table. The Madison Suite was absolutely perfect and just beautiful. It had a terrace with a breathtaking view, and the location could not have been better. When the day came for us to checkout, none of us wanted to leave, much less go to Brooklyn where I was attending a conference. I can say without a doubt that we will definitely go back to the Omni Berkshire Place Hotel and will hope we will be able to stay in the Madison Suite on our return. Honestly, I have been to New York numerous times, but never have I experienced such wonderful treatment as we did at this hotel. I've stayed at quite a few hotels in other cities, and have had some exceptionally good experiences over the years. I am proud to say our experience at the Omni Berkshire Place is one that ranks right up at the top. Over the years, my husband and I have seen a decline in customer service, which is very important to us both. We both like the best and try and stay at the best hotels. Next to superior customer service is also the cleanliness of not only the hotel, but the room, everything from the floor to the sheets to the bathroom. The Omni Berkshire Place Hotel excels in all of these areas. I also had the pleasure of meeting Beatriz in person and she is absolutely wonderful! She constantly checked in on us; made lunch, brunch, and dinner reservations; the list goes on... She truly went above and beyond and also sent coffee and tea to our room one morning. It is thanks to the two of them that we had such a wonderful stay. The staff at the Omni Berkshire Place definitely made up for all of the mistakes the Omni in Dallas made and redeemed the Omni name.
