"Great location but has issues"
First the good, the location is great - really hard to beat for that. Second the suite concept is necessary and rate so that you have a door separating you from the living room and any kids on the sofa bed. Now for the bad - the door to the bedroom does not close in our room - it is in fact larger than the frame. The AC/heat unit is large and noisy making sleep difficult and possibly because someone was previously angry with it - it appears to have had the panel kicked in and it fell off the wall a couple of times. Also I paid $430 for the room while I could have stayed at the 5 star Langham for $375 (I did the first night before the family arrived) - no comparison between the hotels. So it was overpriced as well.
"Great location and breakfast"
The Omni is located in a great spot. Easy walk in any direction to the sights located in the city. Easy access to taxi, bus, train, etc. The breakfast bar/buffet in the morning is second to none. I would highly recommend the Omni when visiting Chicago.
"Great Hotel "
The Omni is an upscale full service hotel on Michigan Ave. The staff was courteous and check in very efficient. The room was a King Suite. It was nicely appointed. Bed was comfortable. Sofa sat very well.
"Room Lighting is Unacceptable"
Great property. Beautiful and comfortable accommodations. But, the light bulbs were of such low wattage that I could only read in the daylight or in the bathroom. I will not stay here again. Its too bad, because on every rating category, they are excellent.
The Omni Chicago hotel has been beautifully remodeled. The entire hotel is immaculate! Staff is very friendly and you can't beat the breakfast buffet! Perfectly located in the middle of the Magnificent Mile; so close to shopping and restaurants.
