"Beautiful hotel, above average service"
We really enjoyed our stay at OPUS. The bed was so comfy, the location was perfect, and the gym was a nice extra on a stormy day. The staff was amazing and you can tell they have thought through the customer experience at each touchpoint. The only disappointment was the spotty and slow (albeit free) wifi. As visitors from the states we heavily relied on the wifi to utilize our phones. All in all it was a great stay in a centrally-located, beautiful hotel.
"So central to waterfront, urban experience!"
A thoroughly friendly, comfortable, stylish but not uppity boutique hotel. Size is very conducive to a chatty, approachable staff. Location was ideal for us. Ditched a rental car and stuck to public transportation and walking! You know you're a hit when the tweener kids dig the joint even though there's nothing really about the hotel that says "we welcome kids."
"Long live the Boutique Hotel"
Once again, I was able to enjoy the hospitality of this unique hotel situated in the heart of Yaletown. In case you haven't been to Vancouver's Yaletown, you will love it here. Unlike Robson Street, stores and restaurants in this neighborhood are not "chain" and have great personalities that were not formed in a laboratory setting. Just like this hotel. Upon arrival, you are offered prosecco or water while the staff checks you in. They also inquired what are plans were (which was to go immediately to our favorite restaurant). They were able to call this very popular spot and secure us a table in the middle of one of the worst storms the city had seen in quite some time! Our room was upgraded to a courtyard view and was very charming. It has heated floors in the bathroom with wonderful products and a shower head that would knock the residual night's vodka off you without trying. The only small improvement I would ask for is the bar should have a better choice for local "champagne" or even the real thing from France. Cocktails were interesting, however. We will be back as soon as we get a chance! Opa, Opus!
"Exactly how a boutique hotel should be"
What a great boutique hotel! Perfect location in Yaletown for restaurants and shopping but also down the road from sea wall and cycling lanes. Most impressive was the friendliness, knowledge and helpfulness of the front desk staff who are all very approachable. They really helped us get the most out of our stay in Vancouver with genuine insight. Would definitely recommend and return to if we ever stay in the city again.
