I loved my stay. I was in town for one night for business but the location is super convenient, staff very hospitable and amenities are clean and updated. Bonus was the gas fireplace and awesome tub in my room! The in house restaurant and bar are great as well.
"I would move in permanently, if I could!"
Lovely hotel. Helpful service. Incredibly relaxing stay. Thank you! I particularly enjoyed the heated bathroom floors. And the room was outfitted with all the things I wanted — coffee/tea, iphone charging outlets, great shampoo / conditioner / lotion. My only two complaints: 1) It was confusing that the continental breakfast was only for guests who'd chosen it ahead of time. 2) When I was checking out, the person at the desk insisted that I needed to pay with my personal credit card. I found out later that it was supposed to be charged to my company.
"Good service Beautiful hotel sneaky charges"
We did a little getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday and found Opus. From the moment we pulled up the service was exemplary. They greeted us by our car, took our bags, gave the pup a treat, and poured two glasses of presseco as we checked in. That night we decided that we wanted a tub so we requested the upgrade. As soon as we were up and out they transfered our bags. Anything we requested was quickly and happily handled. We really enjoy travel and this is a shining jewel in hospitality, cleanliness and comfort. My one and only issue was that I am more than willing to pay for something I know I am to be charged for. However the $39 a night in parking that is not specified in one place is a bitter surprise. I would have made different choices. Or perhaps I would not have, but I did not know so I could not choose.
"Quick business trip."
Not my first time, actually my seventh, and how do I know that because they reminded me! That is just the beginning of the the experience, the attention to detail is excellent. The entire hotel is seamlessly run, and to a very high standard. From the choice of finishes in the room, the quality of the fixtures, the cleanliness of the bathroom to the quality of service experienced from all of the staff. Best hotel in Vancouver, bar none.
"Comfortable and conveniently located"
I stayed at the Opus for five nights on business and was very pleased with the staff's hospitality, the finish and cleanliness of the hotel and the room, and the location. Amenities are very close, including the Skytrain station right across the street, Starbucks beside it and the Sea Wall just over a block away at the bottom of Davie Street which was awesome for my morning runs. Despite the relatively small rooms, the layout made the most of the space so there was a surprising amount of storage, including a chest of drawers and room to hang clothes in the closet. The safe was nice so I could leave my laptop behind in the evening without worrying, although with keyed access to the floors through the elevator I doubt I would have worried anyway. The building felt quite secure. My only negative comment is that the parking situation is a bit ridiculous. With no user accessible on-site parking available, your only option is the $39 per night valet service. I know that parking is at a premium downtown, but that seems a bit over the top. $200 for a week of parking'! Seriously! I would stay at the Opus again, but only if I had no vehicle or alternate parking arrangements were available.
