"We cancelled our stay after seeing the room"
We decided to book the resort because of high recommendations in booking.com. But it was disaster.. pictures didn't correspond to reality or maybe reality of 10 years ago. Ugly room, broken doors, noisy (kids screaming around the pool), no private beach so you have to negotiate the price for beds and umbrella every day (and the beds are ugly, old and dirty). This for more than 200 usd per night means never again. Legian are is for young surfers enjoying night life but not for couple spending romantic honeymoon.
"Padma never fails"
I stayed for the second time at the Padma Legian. With the addition of the ( Adult ) Infinity pool and Beach Club the experience was better than my last visit. A great place for families. I stayed with my 16 niece and it was perfect for the two of us.
"Excellent As Always - Like Coming Home!"
Coming to the Padma was like coming home! This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Padma over the last 14 years; the last time was in 2011. We stayed this time for 7 nights; with 2 other couples - they loved it too. Warmly welcomed upon arriving with refreshing drink and cool towel. The Deluxe Chalet Room we had was modern, clean and comfortable as one would expect. We were also pleasantly surprised to be further welcomed by one of the client service managers who greeted us at our room, and welcomed us back; he remembered us from 6 years ago!! Our housekeeping guy was great - always friendly, and kept our room clean and treated us with towel sculptures - very clever. The daily breakfast was always scrumptious - always good freshly cooked food, no complaints, and there was so much variety - you could't try everything - decided to try different foods on different mornings - yummy! The meals within the resort are a pit pricey compared to outside restaurants; we did have a couple of meals (by the pool, room service, Barong Bistro, and the Skai Club) - all very good. The resort grounds and amenities are excellent - with manicured well kept gardens, well maintained and clean swimming pools; excellent bars around the pool areas. The staff are hospitable and friendly. The location is great - on Legian's doorstep, right on the beach front, close the the Legian Art Markets, other restaurants. It's about 30mins walk to Kuta Square (along coast) and 30mins walk to Seminyak. We will definitely be back again.
Have stayed at the Padma over 10 times and not one bad thing to say. The resort is massive, with 5 pools and multiple room types. All rooms are large and clean. The staff are amazing and will do anything to make your stay better. I also commend the service in the club lounge, and recommend to anyone to get a club chalet and you will not regret it. The resort is also family orientated with a great kids club, there is also an adults-only pool which looks over the beach. Looking forward to my next stay in July.
"Just perfect for our honeymoon."
We spent 9 nights in Bali, but split that between 2 hotels, Padma was the 2nd hotel and we stayed there for 4 nights. First impressions start from before you even arrive with an email asking us to select from their pillow menu! Sign of good things to come! They also offer free airport collection and return, but agreed to come and collect us from our first hotel which was near the airport anyway. Again, the driver was waiting for us at the agreed time and greeted us with a cold bottle of water each and cold flannels to freshen up a bit in the Bali heat. Pleasant chat with the driver on the way to the hotel. Once there you are greeted with drinks, flowers put in your hair and an efficient check in process in the sumptuous lobby. We declined the upgrade offered to us and they same guy who had driven us to the hotel then loaded our bags onto a trolley and showed us to our room. Right from the security entrance, the grounds and hotel are just spectacular. All very well looked after and maintained. The room too was beautiful with a stand alone 2 person bathtub that you could pull a screen away to open up the bathtub so that the bath was then in the room. The bed was all decorated with flowers and all very romantic. Once settled in, we got to explore. We were next to the lagoon pool, this is a large long pool surrounded by lots of vegetation with little bridges over the pool in places, at one end is a waterfall from over the top of the pool bar. There is also a small diner type eatery here too. All the sun loungers have a little yellow flag next to them. Just raise the flag and 30 seconds later someone is there to take your order for food or drinks - which gets brought out to you a short time later. All done with a smile. The quality of the food and drinks all top notch. Venturing further away from our room, you pass the large breakfast buffet area surrounded by the beautiful gardens and lakes. Food was very good and you can really go to town here if you wish! Afterwards you have the main pool, again with plenty of sun loungers and pool bar and they have a bit of entertainment here during the day. Up some steps brings you to the adults only infinity pool overlooking Legian's beautiful beach. Again, they have a pool bar here with the sun lounger service. From the main pool, if you go up the steps in the other corner, you get to the beach bar. We spent most evenings here after dinner watching the waves crashing onto the beach enjoying some drinks. They have a DJ playing, but it isn't too loud. We didn't really eat at the hotel in the evening as we like to get out and experience the area a bit. They're plenty of dinner options within 5 mins walk of the hotel all top quality. Although your certainly paying tourist prices. All the time you are walking around the hotel you are greeted by all the staff with smiles and hellos, basically just everyone making you feel very special and appreciated for staying with them. Even the security guards of which there are plenty stationed around the hotel are just as friendly to you. With about 2 hours to go before we had to leave, my wife managed to lose a charm off her bracelet somewhere around the infinity pool. Despite my suspicion that it had gone through the decking and therefore likely gone forever, plenty of staff assisted in the search for it, even after the sun went down and we were doing it by torch light! In the end my wife spotted it glinting back at us through the decking and Sindu on the towel desk promptly found a length of wire which he fashioned into a hook and fished it out for us with great skill! All done with a smile and some high fives for our success! Very happy! Once found, we went off to the 'departure lounge' which is where you can grab a shower and get changed ready for your flight home. Which they take you to the airport for. Basically I can't fault this hotel in a single way and I wish that we'd stayed there for the entirety of our time in Bali, you are made to feel very special at all times all the time being surrounded by beautiful gardens and pools with lovely food and drink just the raise of a flag away! I don't often go back to the same place more than once, so much of the world to see - but would certainly consider going back here again!
