The Pakat Suites hotel is located in the heart of Vienna, in the immediate vicinity of the Belvedere palace and the city centre. The State Opera can be reached in a 15-minute walk, and St. Stephen's Cathedral is only 2 underground stops away.
"One night in Vienna"
Not my first experience of the Pakat but always rewarding. Room and bathroom huge, pleasant and helpful staff, reasonable breakfast. Wi-fi working properly in the room. Only complain: the absence of food when I arrived around 10PM (maximum they could offer were chips)
"Ultra modern rooms, but otherwise fine"
Our 5th floor room was kind of an odd space - ultra modern feeling, with a wall-to-wall window overlooking a school, and a floor-to-ceiling mirror on the opposite wall, no handles on the cabinet doors. They call it a suite, but it wasn't really - it was just a room. The handheld shower heads in both the shower and the bathtub didn't work. The sink in the WC was too small, so that water splashed all over when washing your hands. Beyond that, it was OK - clean and comfortable. The breakfast was €16 extra.
"Avoid this place - Unfriendly, untrustworthy, unreliable staff that will overcharge you"
Unfriendly, untrustworthy, unreliable staff. Traveling with a 4-year-old girl. On our departure day, I asked for late check out (2:30 pm). The receptionist in charge told me that that would be 10 euro but I could stay till them for free. When we go to do the check out at 3:15 pm (the hotel is far from the city center) the new guy in charge in a very disrespectful way charge me 30 euro !!! for late check out. He would not listen to my explanations, mistreating me in front of other customers. I spend almost 90 nights a year in hotels, and I have never been mistreated like this. I come 4 to 6 times a year to Wien, and will never ever consider Pakat Suites again, there are better options where you pay what is due and they treat you at the very least correctly. Additionally, the breakfast is far too expensive for the quality and the variety they offer, and rooms are not very clean. Vienna is full with better options.
What a marvellous hotel. I had a four night stay recently and was really pleased. I was in the Ambassador suite - a huge room, with it's own balcony looking over a courtyard area and numerous luxury features. The room had two LCD TVs - one for the seating area and one to watch from the large comfortable bed. There is a walk in wardrobe, separate bath and shower with lots of hot water and decent toiletries, a separate toilet, fridge, kitchen hob and a shelving unit full of bits and bobs like slippers, shoehorn, spare quilt etc. etc. It was an incredibly relaxing space and I felt at home immediately there. The wifi was excellent and the room was cleaned daily and kept to a high standard. This isn't a place to fine dine on an evening and room service is really just for drinks so get yourself out if you can and find a nice place to eat. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful and answered my many queries, doing everything they could to help me. Breakfast was included in my deal. It was quite good, lots of variety and nicely presented in a nice restaurant room. There was hot and cold, lots of fruit, croissants, jams and the like in a buffet style. Location wise was excellent. It's a minute from the Belvedere Upper Palace which was stunning. Turn left out of the front door, left again down Belvedergasse and right outside the main gate of the museum is the tram stop. The D line takes you right down to the Ringstrasse and stops at many of the landmarks. If you get off at the Josefplatz stop you can hop right onto the escalator heading to the U-bahn underground train system. The public transport is fantastic and highly recommended for getting around from this location. There is a tram stop opposite the Belvedere for getting back to the hotel. I did walk to St Stephen's Cathedral on the first night I was there but it would be a bit of a trek to do regularly. If you're looking for a little convenience store, there is a Spar about two minutes away, between the hotel and the Hauptbhanhof on the corner of Argentinierstrasse and Goldeggasse. Worth knowing as the hotel didn't sell anything beyond drinks. Great location, great room...simply splendid.
